It was my friend's birthday and got a bottle service at My House. After reading other reviews on this place, I expected this place to be like an actual house inside, but it wasn't so. Not to say that the venue wasn't nice, but I was just expecting a little more "home-y" vibe. Once we got there, there was a mob of people waiting outside the door, and needless to say, just as the other rateclubsers said, there was no line, per se, but just a big crowd of people huddling outside on the front lawn. I don't know why they don't organize it more efficiently, but I was in the other part of the crowd because my friend got the bottle service, which didn't have any other groups waiting. The bouncers were friendly and there was a little hold up because there was 11 people in our group for one bottle instead of 10, so we ended up buying another bottle, but other than that, everything went smoothly. As we walked in through the front door, we were led to our tables on the side of the dance floor, and the dance floor at that point was relatively empty. The service wasn't ALL that great, considering how much people pay for the bottle service, but the waitress came to make our drinks and they weren't really around much to take our orders for other things. The small dance floor got filled up pretty fast after 11ish, and it was so packed that it was hard to get through the crowd to get into the middle of it. The music was really whatever, didn't really hear anything that engaging for me to dance to. Overall though, it was a fun experience.

There are several highly popular restaurants in NYC I just don't get. Tao is one of them, closely followed by Buddakan, the Union Square Cafe, and Buddha Bar... It's just totally unmemorable and replaceable. There are so many other lavishly-decorated and over-priced mediocre restaurants that are more conveniently located. I have been there a few times, including just this evening, to entertain my out-of-town guests who specifically requested this restaurant. Basically, it's the Meatpacking District's answer to Tao. What you should picture is a Megu (TriBeCa, not Midtown East)-like setting and price range, only without the Megu-quality food or service. The customers are just what you'd expect at such a place--a good mix of out-of-towners and the 718/201 crowd in their mid-30s and over. Clearly, you don't go there for the dumbed-down and over-priced Asian food. Their sushi, in particular, is absolutely criminally horirble. You go there for the ambience--but, heck, the ambience ain't all that great, either... It's looking a bit tired and dingy these days. It's just Ruby Foo's without the Midwestern families w/ crying babies... But, wait, at Ruby Foo's, your server is at least charming--definitely not the case at Buddha Bar... I am just fascinated by how popular this place continues to be. They must be doing something right.

Truly a 5 star venue. The sound is fantastic every time I have been here. The staff has always been friendly, and theres not a bad seat in the house. The decor is epic and I always feel like I'm in a cathedral. This place has a lot of character and is the best place in SF to see a show. Period. If you ever get a chance to see a Neurosis show here (if your into metal) get ready for a life changing experience. They play almost every New Years Eve so check em out if you want to get your wig peeled back.
