Harlot is not a responsible business. The club/lounge suffers from miscommunication problems within its staff and company hierarchy; the promoter was either unsympathetic or powerless to enforce the promises he made our group for the night we visited. Also the bouncers were quite rude. My group reserved a table with bottle service for a birthday party this Saturday. A guest list of about 80 people was submitted to the lounge/club on Friday and confirmed. When we arrived at door, we found out that we were not on any guest list. Furthermore, the table that had been reserved was sold to another group. Harlot may be a victim of its own success. There was a huge line at the front all evening, so I expect that the lounge is typically at full capacity. The company may not value customers' reservations because the abundance of people trying to get in or get a table makes it less profitable to keep reservations. A lounge/club is a business so I understand the temptation to sell away a reserved table early in the night (the sooner you fill a table, the sooner it becomes profitable), but by reneging on the reservation last Saturday the business has lost reputation and return business from a group of 80+ people (including their friends and friends' friends, and so on and so forth). Was the choice to sell the table away profitable? Maybe. Was it ethical? No. The Harlot may be a nice lounge/club, but its management is not trustworthy. Do not plan your night around getting into this club, with or without a reservation.

the place is hip and plays good music. in general middlesex will guarantee an "out of normal" experience depending on the day the crowd may vary which also makes the experience vary. usually during the weekend the place gets super crowded--- with long lines. drinks and cocktails are very good---a lthough the bar gets pretty crowded it's definitely a "to go" place in central square
