I like this place. The cover charge is low, open 7 days/week, friendly staff, cool girls. I gotta give special props to my favorite dancer, Venom - sweet, respectable, and incredibly sexy, with eyes that can pierce your soul and a smile that can melt a heart of steel. Okay, I'm waxing poetic. She has a hot body and great boobs. :) Go check her out.

Great ambience and even better music. I'm not much of a club-goer anymore, but the occasional appearance to Bootie is much loved. One of my first dates with Elaine was here, and that was one night to remember. We'll be back sometime, once our lives get a little less hectic. Oh, and Smash-Up Derby rocks my socks.

I really enjoyed Trigger. It seemed refreshing to be in a bar/club that didn't feel like a divey place for once. I really enjoyed that I could breathe in this place and that it didn't smell like a locker room! It was very crowded though. Drinks are a bit expensive, but they accept credit cards - WOW! I'm not a huge fan of gogo boys - but they are there strutting their stuff. People seemed more fashionista here than the usual bars which was fine by me. I think this place is a great addition to the Castro - definitely adds some variety to the bar/club scene.

This is hands down my favorite place to see newish bands. We saw Sufjan Stevens and Arcade Fire there before they both got too big for their musical britches. Oh the memories! It was the perfect venue for those bands, stylistically and size-wise. 'Still a fan of both artists, but would never go see them again in some giant dome or whatever. The sound at GAMH is so good - not like those big venues where the reverb is echoing for ages, and not like the little ones where you are sitting in the band's lap (hotel Utah). Every concert I've seen there was amazing, except the Hold Steady which was just too damn loud. (Plus I don't really like their music, I've decided.) Just don't drink too much because you will wait in line for the bathroom! Luckily the concerts I attend don't tend to attract high-maintenance types who take forever, because there is one stall for each sex. (Which makes only 2 stalls, because they don't count all the various other "options" available in SF as new sexes.) The place itself is gorgeous. If you are checking out a band that is sort of a "maybe" that turns out to be somewhat lame, you can always amuse yourself by staring at the ceiling. It's an intimate space, too, making it easy to meet up. 'always seem to run into friends I've not seen in ages there! It really irks me when the band that's coming to town that I really want to see is playing somewhere else. This means you, Caribou.
