by Andrew N. on Just went here for the first time last night for NYE. The venue for new years was different from their normal location at the DNA Lounge. It was instead held at the Mezzaine. The mashups were indeed very well done and kept people dancing throughout the night. Although I would have preferred less pop-ish music, the night was awesome regardless. We came for the small live music venue. The band (The Smash-Up Derby) was amazing, mashing old skool hits such as Journey and David Bowie with Smashing Pumpkins and Papa Roach. The various crazy costumes were freaky, fun, colorful,and weird. I mean all of this in a positive light. Of course, its started getting jam-packed after midnight due to the reduced $20 cover. My only grip was the $9 24oz. Pabst Blue Ribbon, but hey, its New Years. If your in for a down and dirty night of dancing along with a very different crowd, Bootie is the place for you. Dont come here with your glittered Miami/Orange County attitude and expect to be treated like a princess.
by Lauren F. on Mission bar that has amazingly cheap really long happy hours seriously i think that it was $2.50 beer and wells till 9 and they have a shuffle board table and a really great patio and they were very accommodating to rocket dog rescue and i was able to bring my dog and they had oysters and a bbq later and i got drunk cheaply and people bought me unnecessary shots and the crowd was mixed but nice and I've been here before and liked it then and they have another room for dancing later in the night and did i mention that i got drunk here quickly and really early and i'll definitely be coming back here for more nice evenings spent outside and hopefully the company i keep will be as good as the Rateclubers that were all there this time. PHEW! Sorry for the long winded review.
