by Brett Spigutz on Yes, yes, yes! I just had sashimi of the amazingly fresh snapper, and a beautiful hamachi belly, but it was the perfect lunch. And, kudos for proper knife skills on the part of the sushi chef...the snapper and hamachi were cut perfectly to complement the texture of the fish. Well played. I am a self-professed sushi snob & I was more than pleased. Can't wait to try a proper dinner here with the man..,
by Apolonia Birsner on Stupid Chung T, he pretty much said what I wanted to say for my review of this place. He even gave the same rating. Whatever, ignore his review, his opinion means nothing. Listen to me...please? Even if our stories sound eerily similar. I went to this place for my friend's going away party. A quick recap, its a spanish joint. They had free salsa lessons upstairs taught by a short asian guy with a Britney Spears microphone. I later saw him on the dance floor after his class and they were playing salsa/merengue music. He was nothing special, if you're out there, you're garbage shortrounds. I could out-merengue you anytime Britney. They had some large women dancing and taking up 80% of the dance floor (Note: 2 large whales took up 80% of the dance floor). But they had some smokin hot girls there too. One asian-lookin girl was pretty damn fly. I love her so much. Uhmm where was I again? Oh yeah the music switches between spanish and hip hop. At the end, I saw a girl there stand on her head. Pretty cool, cept she didn't know I stepped on poo earlier that day and walked all over the dance floor. Jokes on you for showing off. There's 26 flavor of mojitos and magaritas. I got 6 of em and the bill came out to $36. So do the math, carry the 1, subtract by pi squared, multiply by the circumference of your penis and its $6. Great drinks, good music, hot girls and Britney Spears instructor. Can't go wrong. 3 stars cause its a spanish joint and i'm taiwanese.
by Paul H. on Went to see Scooter there 8/15. The bouncers at Webster Hall were friendly and courteous, at least to us lol. Drinks were way overpriced, I mean I know it's NYC, but come on, $10 for a cuba libre thats mostly ICE? We had to settle for $7.50 Budweisers. The bartenders were gorgeous though. My biggest complaint: For some reason they didn't let you go out the way you came in, they herded everyone through this SMALL passage that was already crowded with people coming in from having to go outside and smoke. You can't smoke inside the club. I know that's NYC law, and it's probably the dumbest law I've ever heard of. I can understand restaurants and other public places banning smoking, but a NIGHTCLUB/BAR? If they tried to pull that down in Miami, there would be RIOTS in South Beach. So they have this line to go outside and smoke and have them corralled in a little space in front of the club. Upon re-entry they have to search you, ALL OF THIS IN THE SAME SMALL SPACE THEY WANT PEOPLE TO LEAVE IN. FDNY fire marshall would have a FIELD day there. WE COULDN'T GET OUT. After 5 minutes of negotiating with the poor bouncer (I felt bad for her, its not her fault, it's the stupid ass NYC/club rules) we finally got out. To all the people complaining about the smokers: If you don't like it, don't go to a club. Aside from that, the ambiance is cool, old style. The sound system was good, and the AC was working!
