If you like a place that has high energy, fast bar service, and is not too crowded...then this place is for you. This was my first time going, and probably will not be my last.

I'd been wanting to try out this spot for a while, so I gathered up some fellow foodies in my monthly food group and set off for TopFlr. We were going to be 11 people so we made a reservation a week in advance. Upon arrival, there was a table set up for 9 with enough room to add on the extra two "maybes" we had. No line, no wait, just gave our name and sat down right away! Our waiter was attentive as we waiting for everyone to show up. He'd ask about a new beer, refill the water, and offer appetizers. We wound up with the edamame and duck confit pizza for starters. The edamame was what you would expect (it's hard to really make that unique), but the duck pizza was excellent! Great mix of flavors, perfectly cooked (not too burnt, not too doughy). Some people felt it needed some extra salt, but I hate adding more salt to my food so I can't say for certain if that is true. The flavor was on par in my book. For dinner, I had the pork skewers, beet salad, and gnocchi with duck. Amazing. The portions were large, which was good for the price. The beets were fresh and came with plenty of goat cheese. The gnocchi was cookly perfectly and all of the flavors meshed together so well. I also tried the mac and cheese, but be warned: it contains a lot of jalapeño. I'm talking burn your mouth amounts of the stuff. It's not listed as an addition on the menu, so if you don't like your food too spicy, don't forget to ask if they can make the dish without it. It definitely wasn't pepper jack cheese! The atmosphere was very upscale, though I thought it was funny that the place is called "TopFlr" yet we ate on the bottom level. I assume that upstairs is more for singles or is a party room? We all thought it was a little funny - certainly not an issue! This place would make a great date spot or small get together - just don't forget to make a reservation in a decent amount of time. Remember that the portions can be split between two people! Lastly, be prepared to hunt around for parking. Papi's is next door and fills up the tiny parking lot as well, and street parking can be hard to come by. Try to arrive a little early to compensate. Other than that, I'd definitely say to give this place a try!
