Eight of us flew up from SoCal to ring in the new year in San Francisco. We have been planning this trip for months and a great deal of research went into finding The perfect place to celebrate. In the end we chose Biscuits & Blues, which featured John Lee Hooker, Jr. For their midnight show. Hooker did not disappoint. In fact, he and his band were great. The problem was with the service, the food and the bar. First, it took forever to get seated at our "reserved" table. ORGANIZATION & CROWD CONTROL = C- Next they stuffed our party of 8 into a table that should have seated 4 or 5 at the most. COMFORT = D The first ordered cocktail (mine) did not arrive until 30 minutes after we all ordered drinks. At two minutes before midnight the last person in our party finally got his drink - nearly an hour and a half after we arrived and an hour into the show! DRINK SERVICE = F- In addition to the $60 ticket price, we each had to spend a minimum of $35 on food and/or drinks. We all ordered dinners and my $34 steak was very rare despite being ordered well done. There was no point bin sending it back since we didn't get served until just before midnight. FOOD PREPARATION = D- Of course we complained to the manager and his solution was to comp us a round of drinks! Too funny, especially since they hadn't been able to deliver the round we ordered and paid for! Bottom line, there were too few wait staff and bartenders to properly handle the crowd they had on hand. This is the fault of the owner/manager, who was obviously more concerned with cutting overhead costs than showing his/her customers a good time. This would be inexcusable any time, but it is completely unforgivable on New Year's eve. We will never go back here, despite the great music, and we'll be sure to spread the word to all everyone we know on rateclub and elsewhere.

I was here earlier today for a going away party and it was cool, but there needed to be like 20% less people there. I was there with my GF and lets just say my levis + black tshirt didn't really fit in well with the floral shirted tight-pants crowd. Some drunk jerk also decided it would be fun to grope my package while I was pressing past them - not the highlight of my day. Ohyeah, Cover on a Sunday? wtf
