We came here for a birthday celebration for drinks so I can only attest to the bar/dance scene here. From the outside, Mayes looks kind of old school and not much to look at, but once you get inside, it's stylish, modern and a cool place to hang out. We ordered a couple caipirinhas (a little pricey at $9/each), and I have to say, I've had better, but they were decent and strong (!!) - so needless to say, we had a good time anyway! The music was good (although it's a little loud, hard to have a conversation) and they have a good-sized dance floor in the back. I'll be back to try those oysters!
by Jackie D. on I'm glad I went because now I know unequivocally that I don't want to go back. Unless Benny Benassi decides to return. The guy to girl ratio in the club, first of all, was 85:1 I swear to god. If you love getting groped from all angles, this is the place for you. Second of all, although the decor is very striking, I wouldn't say it was worth the cost of admission. The VIP was nothing but a roped off balcony with two apparently underaged boys in it, trying to woo older women, and in the bathroom there was a girl who had sliced her foot open on a broken glass on the dance floor. I had heard mixed reviews of Ruby Skye, ranging from the underwhelmed to the awed. I would say I fall soundly on the underwhelmed side of the spectrum.
by Scott Dae on This place is definitely interesting! A place to be seen & to watch the diverse eclectic mix of interesting people of all ages. I loooove martinis, and this place has awesome ones!! The music and bar staff are awesome, but forget about a dance floor. They just push tables and chairs to the side & thats the dance floor!! There is a cover charge, forgot what it is cause I never pay , I have connections! Parking may be tricky, but I believe there is a lot across the street. I usually take a taxi. The biggest thing to remember is its kinda hard to find. Check out Halo's web site to get better directions. Cool web site as well.
