by Dee P. on A solid place for lunch, live music (the latter only rarely though), DJs or just plain ol' Guinness-drinkin'. A bunch of my friends have bounced here. Let's try to forget about the murder out front a few years ago, shall we? Central Square is a "transitional" neighborhood, you know. New menu, funky decor that melds traditional (lovely woodwork) with modern (can steal yer lamps plz?); still a great Guinness pour (yes, it's an Irish pub) and $10-ish lunch with creative menu options (however, goat cheese on a fried chicken sandwich isn't as cool as it sounds). And then there was beer, and it was good.
by Theron Kretzer on Meh. Very crowded venue. The tree/garden lounge area provides a nice way to cool self and get away from the noise and bodies. Typical music. Strong drinks. My one martini really did me in. Nice to come with friends, lax door, very Asian.
by Dion Worner on update: I had to take off a star, I wanted to like you Ibiza, really I did. We have a love/hate relationship going on right now so hopefully next time you'll make it up to me. It was my birthday a few weekends back and I arranged with a friend to get on a promoters list. We called Ibiza and were told that if we came early we would get a table. We came EARLY at 9 PM, had to pay $15 cover even though the people on the phone said that we wouldn't have to pay before 9:30, and had NO table. NO ONE was in whole venue besides two birthday parties at tables. We were promised a table for later in the night and didn't get one. whatever. Still had a good time and would go back for the atmosphere BUT I would not recommend arranging any parties/VIP with the staff. There seems to be a serious disconnect between the restaurant/GLO/promoters/bouncers. Communicate! On another note, first time I've ever been kicked out of a bar for being too drunk - don't worry I made it to the stall all by myself but then I was escorted out. Good thing I don't remember, that seems like it would be em-barr-ass-ing! :) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Ibiza, I give you four stars... I would have given you five but it took you far too long to get me a drink. Maybe it's because of the circular bar and your head was going in circles and couldn't see that I was CLEARLY ahead of the group of fake blondes with the boobs busting out of their cleavage while batting their lashes at you but there are no excuses. I want my drink and I want it now! Other than the unusually long wait for a drink at the bar (first round was quick, second round took eons...) Ibiza was fabulous. First time visiting here on a Saturday night not too long ago... was looking forward to some cuddle time on the infamous bed but alas it is no more since they redecorated. Lots of great people watching... I love watching people try to dance :) Would definitely come back another night.
