I've been coming to Silk City since I was a freshman in college and have had nothing but good experiences here. My boyfriend and I came to dinner here and had a couple of really great things- the mac and cheese (so phenomenal- just like how your grandma would make it), and an amazing beef brisket! The drinks were pretty tasty too! We came back for brunch a few days ago, which was still semi decent. My boyfriend had the "hangover helper" and I had the grilled chicken sandwich. We also got soups- tomato and another one. The tomato was like like a soup and more like a puree, which made it kind of hard to eat. But the grilled cheese in it was definitely a nice touch. Our waitress was nice...but didn't really talk very much, was a bit standoffish and didn't come to check on the food at all. I'll be back for dinner, but maybe not brunch!

We were skeptical all week when we kept hearing that The Salt Lick - a resteraunt AT THE AIRPORT - was some of the best BBQ in Austin. So after we get past security and walked up to order and I suggested that we grab some sauce to take back with us, the BDGF suggested "Let's wait to see if we like it first." I could finish by merely noting that upon completion of our meal, she bought four bottles of the stuff. It was her favorite of the week, and I personally hope to never have to make a Sophie's choice between the Salt Lick and Ruby's. It doesn't do it justice to just say this is the best airport food you'll ever have. It's some of the best period.
