the frying pan is all about location, being able to drink outside along the river, and hang out with your friends. they key to not being burned by the frying pan is going to it with friends you like hanging out with...this is not a pick-up joint or meat market...though the post-college frat-sters seem to think so as they get shot down left and right, and go home with giant grenades that they pick up at the pier. the point is the frying pan is about being outside in good weather, boozing with friends at a cool spot, and enjoying the view. can't speak to the burgers and fries--but it sure smelled good. you can order beer by the pitcher which is a plus! the staff seems cool, given that they have to deal with doofuses, fratsters, drunk grenades, and bridge & tunnel freaks all night long. i am docking two star because the bathrooms at the Frying Pan are straight out of Hostel. for real-sies. you could be killed in one of those bathrooms or getting to it...the conditions are very much see it for yourself. now i am speaking from using the bathroom that's on the other ship next to the frying pan barge which is one of the bathrooms...there another set at the front of the frying pan barge as well.. didn't use those. the bathroom on the other ship are out of a horror film. i will say one thing metal everywhere, drunk people, lots of stairs to fall down, one wrong turn and you fall off the barge, etc. it's a lawyer's goldmine or paradise. nonetheless it's a solid drinking spot for friends. it does get crowded. so scope out tables on the earlier side of the night. you were warned.

A Good chill place good trance music (good DJs & laser shows). Ladies, you don't have to be bothered by guys trying to hump you from the back or guys hounding you like a wolf pack in heat like the other clubs in Hollywood. =)

This almost completes my tour of the Concentrics restaurants in Atlanta. I still haven't been to Luma. Parish, however, completely stands out from all the others. It's not modern and slick. It has it's own feel. Maybe it's the historical building it's in, or the eccentricities of its Inman Park location. You know it's unique when they hand you a menu printed on a paper bag! It mixes the "green" and organic craze with fresh eating and shopping. It's hard to describe; it's kind of a mix between a whole foods, an organic restaurant, and a farmer's market. It's under cajun/creole in rateclubs, but I would've categorize it as such. It's a melting pot of New Orleans culture -but it includes fresh pastas, baked goods, and fish. That doesn't sound cajun to me. You can come here five times and have a different experience each time and eat something new and fresh each time. Is it a bakery, a market, a bar, or a nice restaurant? It's all of the above!
