In my book, 1 OAK is maybe less 1 OAK and just A-OK. See how I did that with the juxtapositionization of the letters and all? Yeah. I know. I'll give you a moment . . . My overall complaint is how jam-packed they let the place get combined with a seriously repetitive DJ. I don't know about you but I've been imprisoned at Guantanamo, and let's just say even they wouldn't play "Shots" by LMFAO for more than 20 seconds. To be fair, in terms of decor, this place is top-notch for a club. I love the murals, the furnishings - everything is quality and looks great. I also found the staff to be generally pleasant. Drinks are super-expensive (like $18 for a run-of-the-mill thing with soda) so figure out a way to not to be responsible for buying any of those bad boys. In terms of getting in, yes, I think you probably do have to appear to have money, be well (or if you're super hot, at least slutily) dressed, and good looking. It's certainly not the most exclusive crowd in the city, but it's a relatively good looking one. All in all, if there was a night (perhaps there is that I'm not aware of) with less hip-hop and more, say, Scissor Sisters, this would be an automatic five stars.

Haven't exactly stayed at the joint but the place has a nice atmosphere and the sweater puppies on the filipina/mixed bartender are exquisite.  Not only do u get a cozy place to drink but you get a view too!

I was a big Visions fan. Crushed when they closed, but hopeful when I heard the owners had opened a new club. I went on a Friday night with an email pass. I was one of the only white people there, not that I mind, but I'd rather have a diverse crowd. The line was not too long but moved so slowly that by the time we got to the front, they wouldn't let us use our passes and we were so frustrated we left. I went again more recently on a Saturday night. We were able to get in fine, the line was not bad at all. Again, I was a minority - where's the diversity? The location is awful - right next to a Big Lots. The club itself is way to small, and the bartenders had no idea how to make good drinks. Would you like a splash of soda with that liquor? The music was ok, but not as current as I would have expected.
