by Phillip Kry on I grew up in NY but somehow had never been to Webster Hall. A Cali transplant friend of mine wanted to check it out so off we went on a Friday night. We did a few laps and checked out the scene. Hip hop on the main floor, 80's revival downstairs and techno upstairs. (Walked up some back stairway to the techno room, it was filled with 100 TVs broadcasting what can only be described as seizure inducing images that must also be used by the government to torture people) The crowd was ridiculously young and the guys complete sketchballs. All that and expensive drinks! I love to dance and this place sucked any joy right out of it. Needless to say I will not be going back. Ever.
