I heart The Cafe all the way!! I have never really been here when it is super packed, however, maybe that's why I love it. Once in a while you just want to be able to breath, move, dance and get your freak on to some hot music! They have great drink specials 2 for 1 and I always meet some fun people when I go. Also, being a girl, I have to point out, I like the bathroom, the fact I haven't had to wait for hours to use a toilet is always a plus!

I love me my gay bars. The only thing I don't like about Blake's is that customers are allowed to smoke INSIDE the bar... But then again, I guess most places in the country aren't at all like California and Illinois where they ban such things. I was directed to Blake's by the concierge at the Ritz-Carlton. The strange part was that I specifically asked to be directed to a mostly women's place. Luckily the lovely drag queen at the door showed me a few places I can go to (with the help of the David Magazine). :) Still, I eventually ended back at Blake's at the end of the night. I had a great time. I will definitely pay another visit the next time I'm in town.

hmm. why is this place so popular? why is there a line at 10:30 PM? i ventured to ella last weekend and had to wait in line in the freezing cold for about 5 minutes. we were ushered right in after the bouncer realized we were five girls with no dudes tagging along. ok so the decor is pretty cool- reminded me of (the now defunct) gin lane with the cool old school mod look and the impeccably dressed bartenders. it was super crowded in there and they really need to light the staircase that leads to the area downstairs because it was pitch black and i was worried i would go tumbling down. i'm fairly good at navigating stairs having lived in NYC for two years now, but this was ridiculous. they've got a potential lawsuit on their hands.
