by Trey Throssell on UPDATED: just talked to two separate groups of friends last night both who had the exact same poor service, now I'm really starting to wonder......read on..... OK guys, time for a wake up call. I would have given this five stars, on a normal review, and after today, I was ready to give Kelly's 1 star and never come back, as they had a total meltdown and it didn't go unnoticed. Many of the customers were whispering on the back deck, saying..."what the heck?" HOWEVER, I'm a HUGE fan of this place, we LOVE the food, we love the location and we love the service. We're starting to grow very weary though of the "random" hours, sometimes they're open, sometimes they're closed, sometimes they are closed for a private club party, sometimes they're open, you never know if you're going to get your breakfast / brunch / lunch when you arrive unless you truly call ahead and find out if they're open or not. Today, took us nearly 10 mins to be seated, and they only had about 8 tables of customers total, maybe someone called in sick? The kitchen team was NOT in a good mood, (be nice to them though, remembering they have knives in their hands!!!)... But here's what needs to be taken care of: If you are going to run a restaurant, keep your normal hours so your faithful and regular customers always know when you are and when you are not open. None of this "sorry we're closed for a private event today" stuff....that really bites. Fix the wood out on the back deck as you can't even sit on the back left side now due to the fact that one of the seats is ready to plunge into the Bay! Just fix it. Clean up the pigeon poop all over the back deck, it's disgusting to sit and look at a beautiful bay, waiting for your wonderful freshly prepared food and look at pigeon sh*t all over the back railing. Time to get out the hose guys. Start being more consistent, you have a really amazing product to offer here and a LOT of faithful followers who come here week after week after week.....whatever happened today....I'm sure will be taken care of and repaired....it was just a "misstep" Just please do something about the cleanliness of the back deck and please repair the wood rot going on out there. See you next week......we really do LOVE Kelly's.
