I LOVE this bar!! Plenty of room and nice big dance floor. Nice, friendly staff. If you order a pitcher of draft beer they give you a cold mug with it which is awesome! The only criticism I have is that the music is from a jukebox which is ok but sometimes people will put $10 -$20 in at once and you have to listen to all the music they picked which sometimes isn't too bad but it nice to have a variety of music that is mixed up instead of having to listen to 30 country songs in a row for example. Other than that it is a GREAT place!

Came for the quintessential cheese-steak challenge with Melissa W. and her bf boyfriend Vi S. Stop 1 Me ordering: "Can I have a whiz, with onions, no wait, um. grilled onions." Guy rolls eyes but literally 5 seconds later, sandwich is up. Okay, sure there is a lot to be said about quickness and to, move on, but honestly if something can be done that quickly, honestly it cant be that good. The bread was stiff and cold, the steak looked very dry, just plopped on with some onion and cheese. meh. And the cheesesteak still runs about $8 for some break some meat, some cheese. Also, don't be fooled by the Vegas style neon, Joey Vento has also been embroiled in years of over-zealous "patriotism", rather anti-immigration for a sign "This is America, order in English". If ideals matter to any of you, you'd think twice too.

I had such an awesome time here last night. A large group of us went out to celebrate a 27th birthday by getting down to some classic 80's music. To DJ Whatever your name was---you rock. If I could get your whole set list for my Ipod that would be great. I've been to 80's nights before where the music is all very obscure, but here they just played one great song after another. And, much to my delight, there was some current Top 40 stuff mixed in. I mean, what's a night of dancing without shaking it to the latest Britney Spears single? The one drawback to this place is its size. The dance floor was too crowded for us to even try to squeeze on to, but no matter. We were able to carve out some space closer to the entrance and bust a move there. The bar was very crowded at all times, making it somewhat difficult to get drinks, but the bartenders were clearly working their asses off trying to keep up with demand. This may very well be one of my new favorite bars in the Boston area. Not an ounce of pretension, no judgement, and everyone there seems to just be genuinely interested in having a good time. The crowd is very laid back, I like that there was no dress code, and a $5 cover (at least this night, who knows if it changes) is more than fair. I will definitely be back here.

I watched the transformation from the old johnny brenda's to the new version. I used to watch the alcoholics line up at 6:00AM for the bar to open to pick up their 40s or sit all day on a bar stool. I saw them for weeks after the grand opening to their disgust, expensive drinks. Oh they were great times. Seriously, I like the bar. The food is good. The octopus salad matches that of my five star. I like the falafel. My friends like the fries. Spring 08' Lately though the lite food items are becoming just that, too lite. I felt short changed the last two times I ordered the octopus.
