Im from out of town and came on a sunday night. The bar was mellow. I enjoyed the ambiance and the bar was lit. The price of drinks were a bit steep. I guess that's how Scottsdale is. I think is much more of a local hangout. If I lived here I'm sure that I'd come here every so often. The bartender was friendly.

This review is for a Friday night, post-10 P.M. experience. I had a really good time here. I arrived around 9:40 and managed to avoid looking for a parking space (I landed one right across the street) and the cover charge (sweet!). When I walked in, I thought, "Hell no!" as there was absolutely no room whatsoever to move. I thought, "If this is what it's like at 9:40," I don't even want to think about what it will be like by say, 11." I was the first in my party to arrive, and so I fought my way to the bar and ordered an inexpensive, and generous cocktail. Imagine my relief when the throng turned out to be a huge pub crawl, and 10 minutes later, about 70 people left. At about 10:15, the staff started moving tables out of the way to make more room to dance. This is not a large space, and I had my worries about claustrophobic move-busting, and I turned out to be right. By 11ish, it was uncomfortably crowded, but that's not Phoenix Landing's fault. Real Estate ain't cheap...............well, maybe now it is............ Anyways, it's not their fault that they're popular. Friday is 80's night, and I was delighted with the soundtrack. There were very few clinkers played all night and every song was greeted with raucous screams from the crowd. I must make a special mention of the staff. Others here have mentioned the staff being rude and the bartenders being hard to get a hold of. I found the bartenders to be very hard working, and I never felt that I had to wait abnormally long for service. The floor staff worked like crazy all night to remove finished glasses, clean up spills (which I love...no sticky floor!) and generally keep the crowds under control. At one point, a staff member approached my group and held up a credit card that had been found on the bar. Imagine my surprise when I quickly recognized it to be mine! The staff member then asked me to show him ID before he handed over the card. I was very impressed. This was a case where I didn't mind forking over my ID (cough, cough, Harrington's Liquors cough cough) . I'll admit that the crowds bothered me, but the music was great, the staff was great and luckily for me (as in many of these stories), the company was great, so Phoenix Landing........well done!

Delux shouldn't have a menu. Sure, some people like the classic burger with cheddar. Or some get a turkey burger. Or maybe a salad. But that's just silly, even though those are great, too. Some people even like their burgers a particular way: with ketchup, with two strips of bacon, with mustard... whatever. I'm one of those people. But at Delux, you just have to throw yourself into the arms of the attractive waitresses and get what they recommend: the Delux burger medium rare. It's heavenly. And don't forget the basket of mixed fries (sweet potato/regular). Not only does it come out in a little basket, but it also comes out before your burgers. That annoys some, but just embrace being able to nibble on them before the medium rare Delux burger comes out (that is what you ordered, right?). Plus, they have a killer drink list for a leisurely Friday lunch.
