A cool and lively place to start the weekend right. When we got into Philly, we hanged out at a friend of a friend's place which was walking distance to N.M, so before dinner, we gave it a try. Friday night at 7 and it was crowded. We almost didn't stay but I'm glad we did. The place is neat inside and out. As the pics indicates it looks like a grand entrance to a museum or big historical government building. Inside, dark burgundy walls with funky light fixtures and stain glass windows. Lively atmosphere which mainly consist of young professional. I can see this place being frequented by the hipster-yuppie set. But I had an easy going and welcoming vibe about the place. The funniest part about this place is that they serve you glasses with portrait pics of famous Philly locals such as Bill Cosby and Mayor Street. Hilarious. Suffice to say, we took the glasses. A good mix of indie music. Bartenders nice and decent service. Although for some reason they don't serve pitchers at the bar, only at the dining table. Weird. Decent prices, I believe. Didn't have food but will consider it next time. A worthy option to get your drink on.

This bar has more of an upscale feel than most of the other bars in the Castro. It looks like it could have that pretentious WeHo attitude but its like any other place in the Castro, just more fancy shmancy. Only thing is that it can get crowded on Saturdays, and you can hardly have a conversation in there with all the noise. Pricy drinks - you pay a lot and get so little. A bit disappointing but the atmosphere is nice. Gogo dancers are hit and miss. Some nights they're hot, other nights luke warm.
