by Avery Formey on You can't graduate from UT and not love Players. It's one of the best burger places I've ever experienced. The staff already knows me since it's a mandatory stop for me after 6th St. They have the best fried mushrooms and fried okra with the best ranch dip. Amazing flame grilled burgers at a good price. It's an old, small building but don't let that fool you. This place has a lot of history and probably lots of stories. I heard the city was about to tear it down for new construction but 30,000 people signed a petition so they kept it!
by Keena Simeon on Went here for a friend's birthday and before rateclub, I had expected a more NIGHTLIFE sorta theme.... good thing I checked rateclub and the pictures before getting all dressed up. The line was long to get in - but it moved fast so that was okay. I was bummed to find out that the rainforest was closed and that the planetarium was all sold out.... so we just happily walked around with the annoying music blaring in the background. Lines were long to get drinks, cash bar only and the ATM line was LONG. The mixed drinks tasted more like vodka with tiny splashes of whatever you asked for. That's good if you just want to get wasted quick, but bad if you want to sip on your drink - yuck, sipping on straight vodka?! sick! I felt as if the place was conflicted - either play music that people can actually dance to... or music that can facilitate an environment for enjoying the exhibits. My favorite was probably the living roof. Very nice. I'd go again, probably after drinking elsewhere simply because it's only $10 and I can avoid kids and strollers... other than that, I think changes can be made to improve night life because there's definitely a lot of potential.
by Tracy W. on Par-Tay! WOW! The "W" gets it pippin...lol! I went here on a friday night and this place was packed with some good looking people. The "W" opens there doors for lounging with drinks throughout the entire lounge areas, up and down for late night. Beware of the lines! The line was out the door to get in, even though it was FREE my girls and I went to the back of the line, thinking if it was that serious and just as soon as we were going to get in line..the bouncer came and got us with some other chics to let us in without standing in line...NOW, that's what I'm talking about! This place was pretty cool...more of a show & tell... I guess..but okay, when you are in the mood to be scene... ;-0)
