by Tanja Bly on Honestly, I had a lot of doubt coming to Esso based on previous reviews, but me and the crew gave it a shot anyways. Being out of town, I didn't know what to expect, so we made sure to come early. We came here on a Friday night. As most clubs usually do, they made people wait until there was a sufficient line buildup. However, unlike some clubs (ahem, Compound), the line was extremely quick without any hassle from the bouncers. It was free for men before 11 pm, and 11:30 pm for ladies. Esso has two separate room: the bar/lounge area and the main dance floor. The main dance floor didn't open until after 11:30. Once that room opened, it was on! The main room is very spacious and can hold a lot of patrons. What about the drinks? Now I know drinks can be expensive depending on where you go, but $10 for a cranberry and vodka? I guess that's how it is in the A! The bartender was nice though and made good drinks. The DJ was on point pretty much a good majority of the night, until he started repeating songs from earlier that he played. One thing I cannot complain about is the fact that he kept the women moving. Speaking of women, there was a sense of "groupie love" that hit about 75% of the women at Esso. Once the celebrities came to the party, the dance floor vacated quicker than a pack of mice who found out that there was no cheese. The dance floor straight stage left, literally. Another thing to point out, as other reviewers have mentioned, is the fact that smoking is allowed here. Pretty much anything goes, so be prepared. Not a bad visit at Esso. Not the best experience, but not the worst either.
by Charise Hitch on Yep, covered in hipsters, but I don't mind that. There's a trick to liking Beauty, you see. Trick is- drink somewhere else first. Go to Creekside or Side Bar or, hell, pre-party at home. Get niiiice and sloshed, and then stumble into Beauty Bar around 1 AM at the earliest. You will be happy and ready to dance, and you won't feel anything but excitement when the DJ spins "Don't Stop Believin'". You will simply scream and shake your ass. Plus, everyone else there will also be drunk at this point in the night, so they will all be your new best friends regardless of what you're wearing or what bands you listen to. Drunk beffies are the best beffies.
by grace c. on i took my best friend to dinner at RISE, the restaurant upstairs of the nightclub to celebrate her birthday... and we jus go party after meal. the restaurant was nicely decorated but seem a bit smaller than the picture. we had the halibut and pho thai and spicy tuna for appetite. it was okay. not too prizes consider its location and all that. after dinner, the waiter jus directs us to walk down a stair at the balcony that connects to the club. if you paid over $40/per person. you dont have to pay the cover fee and get to avoid the waiting line. the nightclub has lots 3 different room( the main stage, the small room at the bak and also the upstairs restaurant that's later also turn into one) to dance, each with live DJ. the music is good. i enjoy a lot. ^^ but i guess the best part is the night is that i get to see SUPERCr3W& SoReal Cru dancing there!!! THEY R SO Talented!!! *heart*!! XD
