I went on a Saturday and.......*jaw drop* It's mostly Asians, but it was weird because it wasn't like mad dog ghetto Asians, everyone seemed to be pretty classy to me. Everybody was having a good time. Bartender was hard to flag down, but it was cool because this girl starting talk to me and we hit it off. I'ts hip hop top 40's. But next time, i'm getting VIP. If you're not, the bouncer will treat you like shit because he has a freakin power trip. I was in the regular line, and he ignores that line for 15 minutes at a time. Boo! But the girls where hot, so i'm not that upset over it.
by Toney Fehribach on liars... 10pm happy hour not true... we got there at 10... there was a private manshow party... so we came back at 10:30 and finally got let in... the place is pretty big and not hot to move around either... we got our drinks (i got my redbull vodka from the open bar even though afterwards they said its not part of the open bar lol)... but yeah the bartender sucks! one person per drink order even though i thought it wouold be more efficient if i would just order 2 vodkatonics at the same time... i guess it was their way of "slowing" him down so that he wouldn't have to make too many drinks... anyway we hit the dance floor, dj no good... kept switching music like every 1-2 minutes! so right when u get into the song BAM change song! bleh! oh and not cool to the bouncers who literally PUNCH their way through innocent small people like me MULTIPLE times and who friggin had no idea what was going on... jeez it hurt! wtf and it wasn't even that crowded!!! for that i have just changed my three stars down to 1 star!!! so yes nice place to go if u don't have to pay... but i wouldn't pay to get in this place again... the beds... don't sit on them... if u know any better!
by Molly T. on My friend just moved to this part of Greenpoint and introduced me to Onyx saying "Yay, there's a beer garden in my neighborhood!" The interior is a swanky bar and in the back they have a great patio with lots of tables. We got borscht with sauerkraut and mushroom pierogis ($4.95). Everything tasted really freshly made. We also got Polish beer ($5). It was pouring out but the bartender/waitress was really sweet and came outside to serve us under the umbrellas. I'll definitely be back!
