I cannot rate the other nights at the Dragonfly as I have only been to Miss Kittys, which back in my clubbing daze was one of my favorite places. It is very reminiscent of an NYC underground club of the 1980s or early 90s, a la 'Party Monster' or 'Danceteria.' This is where they have kitchy theme parties such as white trash balls and crazy special guests such as alt porn star Joanna Angel, Mickey Avalon, Dita Von Teese and Jackie Beat. It is definitely a place to really let your inner freak on, and not to mention be very open-minded. It is not a fetish or sex club per se, but definitely rather sexual and fetish-esque. And the patrons definitely are diverse and usually pretty friendly as I used sometimes come here by myself. However, I will say that there is the share of seedy guys that lurk in the corner.

After a horrible experience at Elevate in downtown,my girls and I headed to Highlands. I have heard of this club before but never wanted to attend..but when your already dressed and don't wanna go home you give new things a try. So after Ruby promised the red carpet would be rolled out for us, we headed towards Hollywood. Luckily we didn't have to go through the regular admission but were able to go in through the direct VIP elevator. No cover charge,no lines,no drama,no frisking. The Club is a good size,(it wouldn't kill them to occasionally clean the floors so that peoples shoes don't get stuck AS much when walking) The bartenders were friendly all while serving over priced drinks. 6 shots of patron was $50. Also there is a lot of guys in there which normally I wouldn't complain except they stalk and lurk around the first vajay that walks by. Not cool. Especially when they follow you or try to hump you on the dance floor. I mean it wasn't the best club ever but I didn't have too bad of an experience. DJ was decent. I guess if you wanna spend the last 2 hours dancing to hits from the eighties.

Ok we didn't actually go in. But $20/pp cover is a little lame in my opinion. We stood in line for 5 mins thinking it over and in the meantime realized we were surrounded by a swarm of annoying Indian people dressed in their tackiest. I can say this because I'm Indian, ok. Needless to stay, we pocketed our $20s and slipped into The Park which is next door and had no cover. So there.
