by Cheryl K. on I love Circle. I am NOT even going to attempt to lie. If you are Korean and into the Korean scene, you love it too. Don't kid yourself; you're not fooling anyone. I love how people always pretend like they hate it. "Ugh, CIRCLE?! AGAIN?! Ughhh man.." Puh-leez. Don't be ashamed. There's a reason why you can find hundreds of young Korean clubbers on any given Friday or Saturday night at Circle, squished onto the dance floor like a can of sardines. I prefer dancing on the ledge, myself, but if having a sweaty desperate Korean dude rub his crotch on your ass is your cup o' tea, then you'll love it here. If these dudes were good-looking, I wouldn't be dancing on the ledge as opposed to the dance floor so much either. For us Koreans who are into the Asian scene, we have Camel, Hiro, and Circle. Camel is too fobby and Hiro is becoming too diverse (don't call me racist; it's SUPPOSED to be an ASIAN scene doofus). So, I say Circle wins. Took 1 star off because the males who come here are slowly decreasing in appeal.
by Arleen Feulner on Bimbos has been around since 1931...it's a living legend in San Francisco! If you haven't been there yet - it's definitely a venue you need to hit up. There's even a naked girl in a fish bowl! They have all kinds of shows...anything from Spiritualized to Robin Williams preforming stand-up. Tickets can get a bit expensive...but it's only because they have such great performers! Beer is average-priced...but there is not a huge selection (they only have about 5 different kinds) Mixed drinks are a little pricey and a the glasses are tiny...but they're really strong so that kind of makes up for it ha. Jens Lekman will be there the end of March - mark it on your calendar!
