by Esta Leinhart on I'll admit that after my first visit months ago, I left very unimpressed. Yeah the room is sexy as hell. But when I asked for the Bartender's Choice and received a mediocre Dark N Stormy, I let out an audible "Pshaw." I unfortunately let that one lazy, uninspired bartender cloud my judgment of the place entirely. My last visit was revelatory. The room was dark and quiet and the bartender was cute and expert. And this time when I asked for a Bartender's Choice, I received the greatest fizz I've ever had =1 egg yolk + port + cognac. I forget the name, but I call it the Magic Milkshake. Sure, The cocktail list is less rigorous than the Franklin's. But so too is the wait for a drink. And say what you will about Mr. Stephen Starr (and you and I will say much) but his service is always friendly and devoid of the slightest attitude or snobbery. And I prefer it like that when I'm paying $12 for a cocktail. And the bathroom door features a picture of Ron Jeremy when he was young and hot. Seriously. Who the hell knew?
by Hyon Amoako on liars... 10pm happy hour not true... we got there at 10... there was a private manshow party... so we came back at 10:30 and finally got let in... the place is pretty big and not hot to move around either... we got our drinks (i got my redbull vodka from the open bar even though afterwards they said its not part of the open bar lol)... but yeah the bartender sucks! one person per drink order even though i thought it wouold be more efficient if i would just order 2 vodkatonics at the same time... i guess it was their way of "slowing" him down so that he wouldn't have to make too many drinks... anyway we hit the dance floor, dj no good... kept switching music like every 1-2 minutes! so right when u get into the song BAM change song! bleh! oh and not cool to the bouncers who literally PUNCH their way through innocent small people like me MULTIPLE times and who friggin had no idea what was going on... jeez it hurt! wtf and it wasn't even that crowded!!! for that i have just changed my three stars down to 1 star!!! so yes nice place to go if u don't have to pay... but i wouldn't pay to get in this place again... the beds... don't sit on them... if u know any better!
by Britney C. on I have never been to Ruby Skye until the past weekend and I must admit, I did have a damn good time! I'm mostly into hip-hop so I was kinda sheepish when my BF recommended this place. He's into dancehall but having an open mind, I wanted to check it out. Dirty Vegas was there that night and it was super packed. Yeah it's true, the club is filled with Euro-trash but at least they were old enough to party and were totally not ghetto! Cover was $25 and I don't know about the drinks since I didn't have to pay for any of my LIIT's. I danced a storm and the music really gets you pumped. Sound system is pretty good too. For you hip-hop heads, there is a hip-hop room BUT it's the smoking lounge and they didn't really play any good music in there.
