Most everything they have is flown in from Tokyo Fish Market, the worlds largest and freshest market. Atsushi "Art" Hayakawa has developed a reputation at another restaurant that closed as the owners decided to move back to Japan. Now that he owns his own place, the quality has remained the same while the menu selection caters to Japanese ex-pats as well as conservative and exploratory westerners. The quality is better than what I experienced in most similarly-priced restaurants in Japan. The owner still works personally behind the bar. If price is an issue, give him a budget. About $25 per person will feed you well. Compared to other sushi restaurants in Atlanta, the quality is flat out the best and even on a splurge night out, I have never made it past the $75 total bill mark including tip and drinks per person. Sushi is not cheap, but in trendy places like MF, one can easily double the bill. For Japanese ex-pats: This is definitely the place you want to go!!! BTW: due to its small size, reservations are recommended. Also the place is open late at night (2am) on the weekends. Parking is free and the area is very safe.

The only time I really enjoy going to the Majestic is drunk, late at night, when I don't have many other options. The night crowd is pretty fun for people watching because everyone is hip and trendy (usually coming for MJQ) and innebriated. However, their food is nothing special and way overpriced for what it is ( I think they raised their prices within the last year or so) Going there for breakfast in the morning is a complete waste of time because there's always a wait and the food isn't even that good. Save yourself the money and go to Waffle House, or Kroger. The one good thing about the majestic is the milk shakes, which have Jake's ice cream and are completely delish.

This was a great introduction of Southern cuisine to this Yankee... maybe I don't know any better, but the food was great! My friend and I started with the fried green tomatoes, which were better than I expected. I had pork chops on top of grits with cranberry sauce, and it was delicious. There was no room left for dessert! The sweet tea also flowed like water. Of all the sweet tea I had in Atlanta, this one was the one I like best. Service was quick, and it was extremely affordable. Definitely stoppping here again on my next Atlanta trip.
