by Patrick C. on I am not a club person by any means so I was skeptical when I left to hit up the Boom Boom Room for my company Holiday Party. But my oh my was I blown away. This is definitely the classiest place I've ever gone to for a drink. The views of Manhattan atop the Standard Hotel are jaw dropping. The drinks were fantastic but I'm also sure quite expensive (thank god for open bar). Perfect as a night starter if you're looking to impress on a first or second date.
by Les Moreles on Don't get me wrong. I think it's cool that the world's biggest aquarium is in the city I live in, but I left feeling a little disappointed when I visited a while back. It has a Disney feel to it. It just doesn't feel natural. I visited the Tennessee Aquarium right when it opened and I was way more impressed. Yes, I was probably 11 or 12 years old then but I think I'd still enjoy that one a lot more than this one if I were to go there today. The aquarium in Chattanooga just seemed to put more emphasis on natural settings than the flash that the Georgia Aquarium invests in. The exhibits were tied more to the local area and that made it more interesting and relevent to me. The one in Atlanta just seems like it tries to cram as many fish as possible without regard to giving patrons an actual education in freshwater and saltwater settings I got the same feeling when staring at an aquarium at the dentist's office as I did here.
