by Janel Y. on Arrived here around 11PM with some friends and had to wait in line, even though we were on the guest list. Once we got in (no cover for the ladies before midnight; the guys had to pay $20) we were corralled into the coat check line ($4) and then headed to the bar for our first drink (mixed drinks $11). I was surprised to see the dance floor so empty. If we had to wait in line, there should have been a reason for making us stay out in the cold when there's not even a bunch of people inside. I hate when clubs do that to make it look like their club is poppin'. So we proceeded to dance even though none of us enjoyed the current music playing. After an hour or so, the DJ finally played some decent tunes and then the night picked up. The place was small with seats and tables along the perimeter and frustratingly in the middle of the dance floor too. The walls were cool with designs of trees that were lighted up, but that's about all that was cool with this place. Upstairs was VIP seating or something like that...it mostly served as a place for people to watch everyone below dance. The ladies bathroom has 4 stalls and there was always a line out the door. We had no problem with the coat check...we all got our coats back and I checked my pockets to make sure everything was still there...which it was. Overall, I'd rather check out another place to dance the night away...somewhere where the music is poppin' right from the get go.
by Deborah Stoiber on Mexican Martinis and migas! It's like a dirty version of peanut butter and jelly with a banana on the side! This will be the first place I hit up once Lent is over. Why, oh, why do you have to limit me to just two shakers of Martinis??? I swear I can handle it! The servers I've had there have been awesome and held my hand (almost literally) as they helped me develop my martini to perfection. And, for Sunday brunch. What a way to start the day! Migas so plentiful, I had to take them to go and munch on them throughout the day! Anyone who can keep my cup full (coffee, water, alcohol) is a-okay in my book!
