Another club with the same atmosphere as most other clubs here. Roped off VIP seating and VIP seating not roped off. A dance floor thats not really a dance floor as much as open space. Why wont atlanta clubs put a focus on the dance floor and sound system. I remember a club up north that installed a 100k watt sound system and the doubled it a few years later. They also play the same cookie cutter music as all other clubs here. Remixed pop, a house song or two, a rock song or two, a medley of hip hop. Sound system is pretty good but the better sound is off to the side of the "dance floor" where the actual speakers are located. Cover was cool, $10 for me and the wife at 10:30 or so. Drinks are $11. Atl standard. At least they didn't kill us with a $20 cover. However, you have to pay $10 to park right in front of the club, on the clubs lot! So in essence, we still paid $20 going in. Not sure of the cover later in the night. Will we go back? Maybe. There was a very friendly bouncer who didn't mind if we sat in the non roped "reserved" seats. Seemed like they asked people to get up only to make the " dance floor" look crowded. Anyway, not too bad for Atlanta. Nightlife sucks generally in Atlatna due to cookie cutter dj's! They are all the same!

If you're looking for some exotic flair in your dining experience then Cuba Libre on Colorado Street is worth your time. From the second the curtain swings open, you know you're going to be treated to something unique. The ambiance is very slick. Tables lined up along the side wall and within the body of the place. Generous bar greets you at the first. I respect this place because, as I've alluded to in the past, the experience of eating out is most worthwhile when the proprietors convey an air of all-inclusiveness. It's a must that any place I visit have entrees that aren't heavy on spices given my sensitivities to them. Even one option is better than being left with the notion that "This joint is accessible to everyone but me." When I visited this flowering Cuban hot spot last year I was pleased with the hongo y cangrejo (PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM and CRAB). The velvety manchego cheese was a real treasure when partnered with the crab. Mashed potatoes, a fine comfort food in and of themselves, offered a hearty texture. Each bite went down better than the last. When I arrived I was concerned that there was no way I'd ever find a dish capable of sating my basic hunger let alone leave me visibly impressed. I'm glad I was wrong. For dessert I went with a no-brainer idea. Never in my life had I sampled a dish of flan. Could've leaned towards the chocolate surrender seeing as how I feel chocolate should be added on as a fifth food group but, no. Nope. Cuban cuisine called for a regional specialty. If any of you are looking into the notion of treating yourself to a "flan baptism" this is the place to make good. Sumptuous met creamy and oh my, a rapturous treat was born!! I daresay this little beauty could talk more than one anti-flan gourmand into being somewhat less hasty. Cuba Libre certainly can fill your need for "something out of the ordinary". On the most fundamental level it's a fun reward whether traveling with best buds or trying to escape the outside world's craziness in favor of being your own BFF.
