I worked there for 8 beautiful years. My stage name was 'Savanna'...from 1994-2002 (when sloan was the bartender)...i still love that place..but now that i am 40yrs old, all my joy's come from reading the awesome times others have had there too. It warms my heart!

OMG! What a fun Place we went in for a after dinner birthday thing .We meet the most funniest Dancer ever she cracked some crazy stripper Jokes and kept us laughin my checks were sore the next day I swear! The bartender was friendly and this dancer named Classy was amazing on the pole. We had a great time =)

Don't waste your money here. Dude. seriously? This isn't a bar. (All they serve is overpriced cheap beer). It isn't a real strip club. (The dancers are all saggy meth whores who don't strip.) The management are pimp wannabe's and the bouncers play games rather than increase proffit by keeping violence down. This place is the definition of "DIVE". Their biggest clientelle is the illegal immigrant population. This is NOT the Spearmint Rhino but it costs about the same. Don't go here!

We went last Friday night, Aug. 14, 2009...sat around the dance area and gave all the girls lots of tips. Only one dancer was good looking with a nice body. Most of the others were obese or chubby. The bouncer/door guy yelled at my friend for pretty much no reason at all, telling him he had to move from his seat to allow some deadbeats (who gave virtually no tips to dancers) to sit around the stage. He left, after some words with the bouncer, and it ruined the night for all of us. Will not go back to this place.

Was eargerly anticpating my dinner last night - we did the 14 course tasting service, and since it was Monday we got any bottle of wine for 50% off! The service was amazing and delightful, which you don't find much in LA, everyone very nice and friendly explaining each dish and assisting. Instead of picking the 14 dishes, we let the chef choose for us, which may have been the problem....as only a few dishes were truly 'WOW' dishes and the rest were just ok, forgettable. The BEST dishes were the Thai Snapper (amazing!) and the duck and fois gras (delicious). And the cheese plates and desserts (brandied bananas, and chocolate peanut butter crunch) were amazing. The scallops and beet salad were good, and the caviar presenation and texture was great but a bit too much of a salty aftertast for me. Luckily, our sommellier gave us separate pours of excellent white wines that mitigated that taste and went well with other dishes. I read about how great the carpaccio was so we asked for that, as its a dish I normally wouldn't seek out - and it was ok but not great. That may be a preference thing though.  Sea bass was dry and forgettable, the hamachi was nice but same quality you can find all over LA so nothing notable. The cesar salad had such a strong overwhelming garlic after taste we were glad for the extra white wine that was poured for us to dilute that taste.  The filet was way too rare and it came at the end so I was too full to bother to send it back, but blah. If you go, try the 8-dish tasting and really pick what you like. I will go back and order the Thai fish, duck and then a few things we didnt try like the kobe and duck fat fries, lobster pot pie, and perhaps a few things from the vegitarian menu.

one of philly's biggest and oldest club? i went there a few weeks ago and the acoustics were HORRIBLE!!! i literally covered my ears just so i wouldn't hear their garbage sound system. The place is on the dirty side...and the decor is...very nonexistent. lol. there really isn't anything that makes it a unique place. its all black with some lights, fog, and stages. the men's bathroom wasn't filled with vomit like other places (i didn't use the stalls tho..) there was a guy trying to self induce vomit in the urinal...kids these days....the sink is in the middle area, which is suppose to be "motion detected" but i had no idea how to turn it on. i stood there for 20 seconds hitting the thing, moving my hands, and the thing just didn't turn on. there is way too many underaged kids...my rule for going out in philadelphia is if any places says: 18 to party 21 to drink, you can think the 18 year old crowd is really 16-17 years old, and the 21 crowd is 19-20 year olds.

This bar was horrible. The girls were trashy and couldn't dance, the beer was expensive and only had beer, the "manager" was very rude and wouldn't give me a refund of $25 when we were there for only about 10 minutes. He wouldn't even listen to me. I had a hoarse voice last night and had to yell over the music and his arrogant bouncer tried to kick me our for "yelling". So I was dragged into another room by a stripper and friend of the managers and they talked to me and took my story AND my side about my voice being hoarse and then the bouncer came back again and tried to kick me out. Let it be known that I wasn't even near him again. He left again and so I just got tired of it and walked out so the bouncer told everyone that he had to kick me out. Psssh. My friends and I went outside to go smoke because we don't smoke in my car so then the cops showed up!! So we just got into the car and took off. While we were smoking some guy came out and said the same thing about the same problems. I want a refund. He wouldn't let me talk to the owner or even give me a name of the owner. This place is crap. I went to this bar years ago and some of the girls were topless. The bartender denies this and says they've never been. Then these hoochies weren't doing their job right because I know what I saw and I know where I was. Just don't go to this bar. It's trash and so are their crack headed anorexic toothless strippers.

This bar/restaurant sits in the Mechanics' Bank building, home to a few Philadelphia historical firsts: the first prominent laborer-run banking institutions (uh, don't quote me on that) and the first local Coyote Ugly (and last; this franchise location has since closed). The interior is well-lit and has an electric feel, from the Christmas lights, to the dog on the wall (complete with neon trimmings), to the weird gadgets lying around. Don't forget to check out the bathroom sinks. Our waitress (Amber) served us quickly and with a friendly attitude, which was pretty amazing since she looked like the only server on the floor that evening. The place was packed with a happy hour crowd. (And they were indeed happy. I talked with three fairly inebriated young women and - in character, of course - took a photo with one.) Tried a few bites of the nachos, but mostly drank. (Irish car bombs are the way to go!) I asked Amber for an alien secretion shot and gave her the recipe when she told me the bartender didn't know how to make it. I was thrilled when she brought it over. Thankfully there are still bartenders patient enough to listen, remembering that customers = money. To top the evening off, our party was rewarded with a free round of shots, courtesy of Amber and/or National Mechanics. I was too happy to remember from whom, exactly. Definitely a fun place, and recommended for a good time!
