by peter d. on The Frying Pan is like a backyard BBQ in that when the weather's nice, if you're not having a good time you're either a miserable human being, or your ex-girlfriend is there making everyone uncomfortable. The Frying Pan is NOT like a backyard BBQ in that they overcharge you for everything. If I could bring some potato salad, or some marinated pork, or a case of beer, and then be allowed to partake of all the other goodness around, this would be one of the greatest places in the city. But it's not like that. Yeah, the view is awesome, and when it's sunny and warm, you can't have a bad time. But you're paying for that view, and it's expensive. The Old Bay fries are decently priced at $3 or so, but that's the only thing. It was around $70 for two pitchers of sangria weak enough that the three of us couldn't get a buzz off it. My burger was surprisingly tasty, but $10 without fries isn't the best price around. The calamari was $11 for a small, substandard portion, and a goat cheese salad was $10 for no reason. Oh, and just because other people are getting on and off the boat next to the Frying Pan doesn't mean that you can. It's actually their boat, and they get pissed when you climb on it.
by Seymour Hosaka on Oh man...Not sure if it is around. But from my Atlanta days this was the last night club I visited. Had a "Last Dance" with my fav people. Lots of different rooms to meet people. The rooms have a different theme to them, like the garden which is outdoors and has a little pond and mini bridge, and the "ride" room which is basically white room with a huge dancefloor. It's a good spot to mingle and dance at.
by Cyril Louviere on Wow asian invasion, man they have got to learn to dance... -_-.. this place is way to packed.. isn't there like a fire code for maximum capacity at this location.. i swear i couldn't even dance comfortably on the dance floor, not just that I COULDN'T EVEN GET OUT OF THE DANCE FLOOR FOR A GOOD 5 MINS! I SWEAR! Their smoking room is worse then glaskat (tabu lounge) which is really stuffy.. no ventilation.. wow horrible! i mean anything worse then tabu lounge is just BAD! The sound system on the upper level is just horrible... but i do like how the rooms are set up and they have multiple bars. I will probably never come back here ever again.
