Sometimes you go out with friends; sometimes with your friend; sometimes to maybe meet that "your" friend; sometimes to try a new place and rateclubs it (is that my main reason now??).... you use to dress up a little, a little bit more or "to impress"... BUT... sometimes you go out looking for your music, because you need it, you just want to feel it all around you.. right? if its hip hop / R&B.... go to bOb. No matter how you dress, no matter when.. is just one of the  "Best I Ever Had" ..It's like if I was DJ-eing there. Did they stole my i-Pod? The drinks are quite cheap and not bad. Enough to keep your hydration level. so Yeah, I know;  I'm not rating as 5 and it's because the attitude of some pple there. And this is also part of bOb. Some of them think you are the prettiest... "you know he wants you" that's the feeling. And I told you, tonight I'm dating the music. And its crowded; the place is small, so it doesn't help. But at the end I can deal with the "minus star " issues and I'll keep coming back .. I'm maybe "Obsessed", but bOb is my music

The old Fado had a real charm to it that the new space lacks.  It feels contrived and like any other chain establishment, only in this case decked out in traditional Irish/English pub kitsch.  If Fado doesn't work out it could easily be stripped of all the paraphernalia suggesting "Irish" and turned into a giant Ruby Tuesday's.  The patio on the third floor is very nice and a reprieve from the packed downstairs where the music is the loudest. It is the tale of two bars.  Weekend brunch one Saturday morning was excellent.  There was a small but enthusiastic crowd on hand to watch English league football, and the brunch I had was fantastic.  Service was good.  They pour a great pint of Guinness here which of course is required of such a place. However, this is not a go-to bar for a weekend night.  A buddy from out of town was bound and determined to go to "Buckhead".  I generally avoid the place, particularly on weekends, so this is one of the few bars with which I'm familiar as I've been there three or four times in the past year. On top of being packed to the gills on a Saturday night (I don't have a problem with that, it's Saturday night after all) the "DJ" was played at  a volume that made any simple conversation nearly impossible.  My ears were literally ringing from the volume when I left.  Having just returned from a long trip to the UK I can report that this is anything but "authentic".   Obviously the younger crowd didn't mind and was enthused by the trifecta of Rick Springfield songs blasted at top volume, but I Ionged for a quiet place to have a beer and talk to friends without having to scream at the top of my lungs.  The top patio would be a great place to lower the volume but everywhere you turn there are speakers blasting the overplayed top-40 hits from the 80's at you, as if you did something wrong and deserve punishment.  The next morning, my ears are still ringing.

If only San Francisco had a normal, nice gay bar like this. Nice bartenders, good music, friendly patrons... windows. I went on a Tuesday night which is probably not the most hopping night of the week but I was impressed with a decent crowd for the middle of the week. Sounds like the place gets crazy crowded on Friday and Saturday nights though so maybe it's not as chill and laid back as I think. Either way... this is what a normal gay bar should be. I wish San Francisco had a clue.
