it's these type of small, unassuming places that tend to deliver double fistfuls of culinary justice. sushi house hayakawa is in HOTLANTA, of all places. compared to my other numerous sushi experiences, this place totally takes the agedashi tofu (cake). the asahi flowed freely while we indulged in the chef's personal selections. the sushi rice was spectacular. normally, rice is the unsung hero of sushi, a samwise gamgee to the frodo of raw fish. it had the perfect temperature and texture that demanded to be recognized, an ambitious nightwing rebelling against an overprotective batman. however, i don't mean to downplay the fish itself. i just likened it to batman, and batman is no slouch (excluding the campy adam west, val kilmer, and george clooney versions. to be specific, sushi house hayakawa sushi is more frank miller's batman: year one). but really, talking about the sushi is just a necessary task when talking about a sushi restaurant. i write this review because i need to publicly declare my love for their green tea yogurt mousse. seriously, an encounter with this delicate dessert is a life-changing experience. tasting this little miracle makes me want to renounce all my material possessions, walk the earth, and have adventures. if my answers scare you, then you must cease to ask scary questions.

So there's this corn in NY that I absolutely love and drool over at just the thought. The hubby found that Nick's had it. Well it wasn't it exactly but it was good enough to feed that craving. I love their tacos - the pescado and carne asada. I can imagine biting into the crispy shell with the lime squeezed onto it with all the guacamole goodness. The corn is really good, a bit on the spicy side but still pretty yummy with the lime and the cheese. mmm... my mouth is watering... guess we'll have to go and make a trip here soon!
