by Marilyn P. on Who wants to eat a greasy bland burger with a thick bun (doubles the meat) with fries and pay $15.00 for it? If you said yes, then Delux is the place for you. The only reason why I even gave it 3 stars was because it's one of few restaurants that is open until 2:00 AM and the interior is nicely decorated. It actually looked like a fun place to grab drinks but not the burgers. After reading reviews about Delux, I was excited to try a "gourmet" burger. Instead, I ended up with their "Delux" burger, which the meat was tasteless and overly greasy by itself. The burger was minimally saved by some of the savory toppings like grilled onions. The bun was grilled (drenched) with butter. We actually split the burger and fries and boy was I glad! The day after my burger experience, my stomach reminded me that Delux is just not the place for me.

G-H-E-T-T-O fabulous? ive been in this mood that ive been craving to go da-da-dancing! so my girl friends and i wanted to go to a club. we decided to go to hollywood and highland. i liked that there is a parking structure, so you dont have to worry about parking in a shady parking lot and having to walk down the block to get to your car. we get up and see that the line is longer at Level 3 so i say lets just go to highlands. friend 1: ive been to highlands 2 or 3 times before and ive had a good time every time. i like it. me: ok lets go to highlands. friend 2: highlands is ghetto. me: the lines shorter, lets go! we go in, attempt to get frisked by the bouncer. friend 2: *lifts up arms getting ready to get frisked bouncer: oh, ill frisk you!! me: *lifts up arms as a joke* are you going to frisk us too? ;) boucer: oh dont test me girl!! hahaha we go in and it was probably like about 11:30ish, the place was still not that crowded. we got our drinks and checked out the scene. you have your typical white boy doing his awkward white boy dance. it was interesting! not quiet sure of his moves and if i could imitate them, but it was entertaining! then you have your typical old man in the club guy. man, this guy must have been in his 70s and in his suit, walking around and girls were actually dancing with him! wtf! was he like "hmm i think ill go to the club today"?? a bit disturbing. then you have your typical fat girl wearing a dress that should be a shirt. wow. her ass cheeks were hanging out, and what makes it worse is that she didnt even have an ass to hang out! hhahaha anywho, the music was good to an extent. the dj kept changing the songs and making awkward shifts of music. go go dancers were good! man, how do they make their booties move like that?!? teach me!! the crowd was pretty diverse, but i'd say there werent that many attractive looking peeps, especially guys. pretty entertaining though. highlands served its purpose for the night, we got to shake our groove thang. as we are leaving me: so yeah, highlands is pretty ghetto friend 2: i told you! friend 1: i guess its been a while since ive been here... and its changed! LOL
