by Anne R. on This place really does deserve 5 shining stars. I went on a Fri night and 99.99% of the crowd was Filipino. (I am Filipino, so I do not mind this -- just sayin'.) Overall, it's a very casual, unpretentious, and fun-loving mix of people. And FYI to the gents: LOTS of pretty girls here if anyone is looking for a shorty pinay mc hottie hot hot. ;) The club isn't very large, but the high ceilings and unreserved seating areas make it feel a little more spacious. Both dance rooms have a really good selection of dance/hip hop/top 40. I myself like the throwback joints -- 90s hip hop has a place near and dear to my heart, unlike all this "throw it in the bag" bullshit...or maybe that's me getting old? I digress. Another good thing (and crucial to the tone of the evening): the bar experience here. No waiting in lines that never move. Drinks are cheap-to-reasonable. Bartenders are friendly and will get you your drink quickstyles. For a $10 cover, this place exceeds expectations.
by Magnolia Belak on I like places that are so tiny as to be not only eponymous and operated likewise but feature extra seating in the back of a pickup truck in decent weather. If you don't eat in the truck be prepared for a phallic bombardment. Not in a culinary sense (gross?), it's the theme for the decor, done in an almost kitchsy manner. Good food, nothing life changing but very very good. Make sure to chat up Carman while you're there but don't pet the dog, its not too friendly.
