by Melanie V. on So, like, if I lived in NYC, I get the feeling that I'd be here everyday after work. I mean, you're on a boat with an amazing view. There's great drinks and an awesome scene for people watching. What's there NOT to like? Granted, we got there a little bit too late and we were forced to stand for a good three hours, but eh...minor details. I love that there are multiple levels to the boat, too. The best were the top levels because the views are just beautiful. Although, I'm pretty sure I'd be worried about falling off at some point or another. Drinks weren't even that expensive, compared to what we're used to, Nice surprise!
by Alesha Kue on Forget the few negatives... They are irrelevant in the case of Kat's Cafe. I try my best to hit as many live music venues whenever and wherever. My footprints have been left in live music venues from New York to Vegas and Chicago to Florida. Small venues have to do something different to distinguish themselves and in this case, the difference here is Kat herself. Kat is a wonderful hostess and does everything she can to accommodate her patrons. If you went and didn't have a conversation with her, then you missed the Kat's Cafe experience. The bands play everywhere in the city. The drinks are all the same and funny, cute bartenders are easy to find. Lapses in service happen every where. There's but one Kat. And that's why you go. I've been looking for my Atlanta hangout for years... I finally found it.
by Irina Samway on Alright. I have to say it. I love Hot Dogs, I love Onion Rings. I like (notice not love) The Varsity. It's an Atlanta tradition to eat at The Varsity. I think that's what makes it a like for me. The hot dogs are tasty SOMETIMES. I've found far too often that you get good dogs and bad dogs (sauce isn't hitting it, etc). The one saving grace on a consistent basis is the onion rings. I have yet to think anything other than good thoughts about these suckers. I recommend The Varsity to people that have never been. I avoid giving my opinion outloud as it seems to be such a touchy subject much the same as politics. I must say - The Coke tastes the same here as any other place that serves Coca-Cola in fountain form! It's the environment that makes you morons think that it tastes better here. Overall? A decent place for a hot dog, fries/rings, beverage and some not so friendly (wait, that's the theme!) waitstaff.
