Full disclosure: this isn't a review of experiencing Supperclub on a normal night, as a regular customer. I went there for Art Attack tonight, a benefit for Wolf Creek... with one of my best friends DJ'ing. Additional disclosure: I was thoroughly prepared to hate this place. I definitely walked in with a prejudicial attitude, assuming this place wasn't going to be "my thing." I was happily reminded that it's stupid to go into anything with preconceived notions. For this event, everyone had the option of getting a $15 meal, which consisted of vegetarian spaghetti (tomato sauce, eggplant and bell peppers if my palate got it right)... along with an arugula salad with tomatoes. It wasn't blow-your-mind food... but for the price point it hit the spot. Bar service was pretty efficient, even though they were slammed. Prices for non-well drinks were $8. Again -- pretty spot-on for what you received. Best part of the evening, without a doubt, was the roving masseuse though. Totally unexpected. It was $25 for 25 minutes and one of the best massages I've ever had... and I'm a picky sonofabitch when it comes to massage. I asked the CMT for her card and will now shamelessly plug her here. Her name is Christina Cruz (707.321.7828) and she is available in the Haight. Her card advertises deep tissue, trigger point and myofascial massage -- and I will personally vouch that she's absolutely expert in these disciplines. Christina read me like a book and intuitively knew where I needed a lot of work. I've experienced a lot of CMT's that aren't confident enough to apply the right amount of pressure required to get therapeutic benefit... because they don't know where the limit is. Huge props to Cristina for REALLY knowing when and where deep work is needed. The in-house entertainment was okay. They were definitely trying. I think if I'd been paying what others have paid for a regular night here (i.e. around $125) I probably wouldn't be handing out four stars. It was, however, a four-star night out for the event I went to. Everyone that works here was really nice. Dunno your name (skinny jeans blond boy with sleeve tattoos doing backflips off the ironwork)... but you're cute and made us all feel welcome.

What a killer place to take someone from out of town. Super unique and it keeps ya outta Mexico which is good these days. The food is ok...keep it to apps and ritas and just soak in the flair.
