For a night-spot and tapas, I'd have to say this place was pretty bland. Being from the DC area, when you go to a restaurant on the weekend you are going for good food and a social atmosphere. It was kind of lacking for me here. This is a place for mid-30 year olds to eat and chat and "get wild" in that mid-30s way- unfortunately, I am not in my mid-thirties. Perhaps I am slightly jaded because when seated, I was in close proximity to 3 large groups of obviously older women getting sloppy drunk and literally plotting to find husbands. I am not an agist in any way, but when you are going for a classy "happening" tapas place, then you gotta contain the foolishness. I also sat in the basket seats, which where fun at first, but when the food came, I had to create a momentum to swing me closer to the table and hold my place by planting my toes. The service was great. We were seated, beveraged, and our waiter even made recommendations in five minutes. Our food came out soon after we ordered and the waiter make with the refills like a machine. The food was also just, ehhnn. They offered basic items with a twist, but I found myself looking for some salt and pepper. I was really looking forward to the Szechwan fries and they were shredded so thin, that I was tired of trying to gather a pile of them in my mouth to taste them. Why do I have to find a strategy to taste your food? I found no kick, no pizzaz, and nothing that stood out about this place. In fact, I left hungry. It wasn't my first tapas experience, but it was definitely not my best. I suggest going here with a bunch of people and drinking a lot. Perhaps that will help you make this 3 star place a four or five for the night. If you dont plan on drinking some alcohol when you go (on the weekend) then prepare for a sobering experience.

Wow this venue is so beautiful. Going to see a concert there makes it even better. The place is pretty big but at the same time the venue is small enough to make it feel intimate. I haven't been to a concert in a while but if there was an artist playing their that I really really liked, I'd go back to the GAMH in a heartbeat.

I am glad to say that after a rocky first year (since the renovations) Sidetracks is right on track!! The food is really great, and the atmosphere perfect! They have music on a Sunday night and it is definitely worth a visit (and the sore head on a Monday morning) Try the firecracker shrimp, goats cheese salad, New England rack of lamb and a side of the potato croquettes a must
