Not only am I updating The Edison, I'm going to delete the lackluster review I gave them three years ago. Whatever kinks they had in their infancy have been smoothed, buffed and polished. On my latest visit, every employee I encountered -- from hostess to management -- was courteous, poised and helpful. The clientele improved as well, in both attire and manner. Of course, the decor is still as fascinating as ever and the drinks, just as tempting. All told, I would not hesitate to suggest The Edison as a destination after a show at Disney Hall or a fine meal with friends, clients or out of town guests.

For some reason the reviews on this venue are not so great...bad timing..I guess! But I went here two nights in a row last weekend and wow did i have a blassst! The crowd was beautiful and the drinks were fantastic.

You know, I really like Grace Tavern. For some reason I was pretty intimidated by it at first but it's a nice place. It attracts a good mix of people and is usually way less crowded than Monk's, it's sister restaurant. Although I have only really gone there at 1am so that could be why. ANYWAY, I know everyone brags about the fries at Monk's (hell, I did too) but believe me when I say that the fries at Grace trump them completely. they are thicker and the seasoning is a lot better. I haven't had a chance to try the other food but people have told me that their Po' Boys are delicious. Another good thing about Grace is that their kitchen is open until 2am, where as most bars close their kitchen early. This way you can satisfy those drunchies without having to make that Wawa run post-bar. Oddly enough, the same bartender has been there all the times that I've been there too. His name is Joey and he seems like a really good guy, as well as a great bartender. My friend came along the first two times I went there and he remembered us, which instantly made us feel welcome (apparently it's now our official local bar too, but those are Joey's words, not mine :X). Grace Tavern is a great place with a slightly dive-ish feel to it. Although I would recommend going before 1am because you won't want to leave after an hour ;]
