by Harland Kincey on I would go to The Edison for a more special occasion because I'm a college student and there, unable to just spurge on $13 drinks all the time. But the crowd you find there is a bit older than the average college student, so it's a nice change of pace. I absolutely LOVE the decor. It was an old historic powerplant in LA and they've retained a lot of the history in the lounge. You walk in and the hostess greets you. There's a smoking room on your left as well. Walk downstairs and on a busy night, you'll find a band playing some jazz tunes, people dancing, people at the bar and all around just relaxing on the lounge chairs. My favorite drink is the Mistress Nouveux (which I got last night!). But yes, it's a very girly drink! Drinks are $13 a pop... so it's expensive. The food is delicious but also pricey. My favorites are the Singaporean Wings and the Mac&Cheese. One thing to mention is the $25 cover fee per person for those of you who want a table. We went on a Thursday night and there was no line. Based on the reviews, don't think I'd ever go on a Friday or Saturday night.
by Cletus Sisneros on the first night we went there , we were invited by the DJ at the world bar. had no idea where we were going, never heard of the club before. and we were plesantly suprised! EVERYONE was dancing, lots of good looking people. pretty chandeleirs, comfy couches and lots of mirrors to check yourself out in. the bathrooms are never that crowded because they have a ton of individual little rooms. the poor bathroom attendant had trouble keeping the couples from sneaking in to get it on! lol! its a GREAT place to meet a date, because the guys here, are pretty genuine. they ask for your number, call you for a date, not a booty call. we danced till they turned the lights on. the drinks are a bit expensive, so id say drink before you go there if you dont have the cash. girls should have no problem getting drinks, the men there are usually all professional, or connected so dont worry about creeps. clean cut, trendy and classy crowd. my friend lit up a ciggarette inside, and the security people politely asked her to put it out, but let her finish it anyway. the music was a great mix, from old school, to salsa, to reggaeton. theres a great energy in the place. the set up is a little funny, though, some narrow stair cases, platforms, and its crowded, so finding a lost drunk girlfreind is a bit of a challange. one star for decor, one star for atmosphere, one star for the great looking people. and one star for all my friends who all got dates after that night. ;)
