by Florence Golojuch on Just like it's impossible for me to walk out of Target without spending one-hundred dollars- so it is that I cannot walk out of Oscars without being totally Blitzed. Cheap and divey is the name of the game- and by god do they play it well. Just a door down from Ladder-34-13-Doucheville is one of the best kept dive secrets in Philly. A collection of souls if i've ever seen it, Oscars has the perfect range of people in on any given night that you will be comfortable with just being you. Word to the wise that this place is tiny and poorly lit- if that isn't your cup of tea than Oscars isn't for you. But if you want one of the best dives in Philly- get on board the O-train to Drunktown.
by Kunal K. on I went to this place for a Birthday on Sat night. I don't understand why clubs in SF have $20 cover...it's just ridiculous. The guest list line was already ridiculously long by the time we got there at 10:15...so get there early if you don't want to deal with the guest list line. Overall the club is cool but it gets ridiculously crowded...instead of charging so much they should let in more girls since the ratio is not that great. The drinks are pretty moderately priced but beware that they add tip for any bills over $75.
