Went for New Years Eve...can I rate it zero stars? Let me start with the good. Decent looking club. Good bartenders. Quickly thru the line. And the bad...where to begin... It was...Amature Hour. I think I saw vomit in 4 or 5 different places. At one point, a girl vomited on the leather couches in the lounge area on the second floor. It was 30 minutes before somebody came to tend to the situation (though she was thrown out immediately). When they did come to take care of it...they simply threw saw dust on the awful smelling mess. It was NEVER cleaned up...and for the rest of the night random people stepped and sat in it. Fantastic management there. The bathrooms upstairs were even more disgusting. As a guy, I am accustomed to a certain level of vileness in the bathrooms...but this was far worse than anything I had ever seen. The floor was literally covered with vomit and urine. There was a glass cup in the toilet blocking any water flow. The smell was UNBEARABLE! There was even a moment where a guy was in the stall with the door open...vomiting into his own cup...and drinking it!! Really??? Then he was promptly escorted out (but the mess/smell remained). In addition to all this...there was vomit on the stairs and in random places. LEARN TO HANDLE YOUR LIQUOR AND CARRY YOURSELF BETTER. The management and staff should be ashamed of themselves. As for the DJ...Best DJ in Boston??? I don't think so. He played MAYBE 20-30 seconds of songs before changing it...at the most. EVEN THE BARTENDERS WERE TALKING TRASH! It was like he had music ADD. And the transitions were awful. He went from a house song, to Biggie, to Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield! And that was all within ONE MINUTE! Who can dance to that? But at least he kept coming back to the classic...several times throughout the night..."SHOTS". Because everybody likes to hear that song mixed into everything else...right? One last note. The sound system was decent. But the lighting and effects were...elementary at best. Actually...there was a guy that was...ehh probably 6'5" or taller walking around with a shirt that had an equalizer on the front that lit up and moved to the beat. That was better lighting effects than the club itself had (of course...that was only when the shirt didn't get confused by songs lasting less than 20 seconds). Overall one of the worst club experiences I have ever had, and I certainly am not a rookie.

I am sitting next to Lisa G who has her adorable pup on her lap and some delicious spicy rum concoction chatting up the ADORABLE manager and we are LOVING IT! They have an excellent outdoor patio (you can bring your dogs!), super cool/funky decor, and this drink is OUTTA CONTROL DELICIOUS! Also, just learned from the super friendly owner that Polk Gulch got its name from the fact that all of the stores on the street had a western facade.  The Cinch is the only place left with the original western look and because of that, it's AWESOME! this is a great bar for anyone regardless of their sexual orientation.  Plus, did I mention that the manager is hot?  Well, he is.  Pool tables and good music, too. And hello...ladies of country and madonna tributes?  I AM IN LOVE! As Lisa G so eloquently put it, "I love bars."  This place makes you love bars. I have no idea if this review makes sense.  carry on.
