by Michel Debry on Friday nights, dancehall fanatics, this is the place to be. Element has a few of the best of the city's west indian dj's and they know what their doing. Music is great; by the end of the night, guarantee your feet will be killing you. Drinks are the same as other venues. Once inside, pace yourself for the crowd-it can get a bit overwhelming the amount of people that are inside. But, the vibes, music and vast selection of potential dance partners make up for it. If you want to have a great night and feel the vibes of the west indies, then hit up element!
by Edison Wide on Myhouse is a absolute blast!! I was a bit skeptical at first seeing as how I had never been to a Hollywood club before and was unfamiliar with how getting in "works". I read many negative reviews about the bouncers and not being on a guest list and decided to just wing it and hope for the best. I went with a good friend of mine, his wife, and my girlfriend. So the girl/guy ratio was balanced. We arrived at 10 p.m. and waited on the turf with everyone else. Maybe we were just lucky, or maybe we got right in because my friend and I didn't dress like douche bags and where with classy ladies. But whatever the reason the whole process was smooth and after getting inside we had so much fun! I would recommend this club anyone willing to pay Hollywood bar prices!
by robert b. on How to describe this place. I've been here repeatedly. The music is always top 40's hiphop downstairs, always good to dance to thanks to the good dj's. The drinks are never watered down, at least not the grey goose martinis or a.m.f's. This is a cool place if you want a typical night of clubbing in the city. Do not expect something extra special unless you get bottle service. The decor is nice for a club in the area. I like the three different rooms and three different types of music and djs. A little something for everyone here. Security is friendly here and never had a problem with them. The downside is that this place has become so popular that party buses and limos go here. There's always a line outside and it literally can wrap around the corner. Find someone that knows someone to either get on the guest list or line cuts. If you get here too late, the place can be over crowded to the point where not even VIPS get in. I was there hanging outside of 181 with some big whigs in the clubbing industry and even they couldn't get in with their entourage because the club was beyond capacity. Go here for a good time, not a special clubbing event. A fun place none the less.
