meh... Hiro was ok, not great, not bad. first time at Hiro was Halloween this year - had around a group of 15 and got a table. first off, I understand that we booked a table pretty last minute, but my goodness, was our table shittay. first off, it was a small dinky table around the size of 3' x 5', it came with 4 dinky little stools, and it was placed right in the middle of a high traffic walkway. needless to say, we didn't spend much time at our table and none of us even sat the entire time because we would have just constantly been kicked around [one of our dinky stools actually got kicked and like flew across the room and got lost]. that was my main complaint of the night because i feel like if a club is a gunna make money off a shitty table, then that's the only reason why they put it there - to make money off it. anyways... Halloween was really packed at Hiro. lots of drunk people running around and dancing. gotta say though, i saw some pretty clever and creative costumes. once on the dance floor, it's just a huge big grindfest going on. fast forward one week later, and I end up at Hiro again because they had an Vodka open bar for ladies till 1130pm. this night was kind of irritating because there was no line whatsoever, yet they were letting in one group every 15 minutes or so... i guess that's the same for most clubs, but it seemed like an even massively slower. anyhow, actually didn't turn out too bad. the open bar drinks were pretty strong and good... and i actually liked Hiro a tad better on a normal night. with less people, it's more loungier and almost has a more classy feeling. overall, ok club. if you're into clubbing, you'll probably like it here. i realize as i get older, i always question myself while at the club, "what am i doing here?" haha, juss saying! i think i'll try and stick to my "get all my clubbing needs out of the way in Vegas" sorta rule.

Nothing on tap.  Drinks are way too expensive.  Music Sucks.  Oh yeah, and once we were there a few minutes early and needed to use the restroom, but the doorman was a total prick and wouldn't let us in.  Bottom line: there are way better places to spend money on better drinks.

I really like Halo for having it's own identity.  Halo pits itself as having deconstructive and minimalist architecture.  Deconstructive architecture strives to stimulate unpredictability and simulate controlled chaos.  There was certainly a juxtaposition between the cold, clammy concrete walls to the warm, luminous bar.  The randomness of the concrete stairs to the plethora of glowing light fixtures made this place visually interesting. I am pretty sure the owners named the place in reference to the lighting and not the video game.  But, it certainly has the video game feel with the barren walls and futuristic furniture.  This lounge is certainly not conducive to dancing due to space layout, but more so for enjoying the conversation with intimate friends.  Also, it maybe a place of philosophy, where you question, why that beautiful woman is engrossed in the not so attractive man.  Which inevitably leads to introspection of why you're not engaging with that beautiful woman. Now I leave you with some quotes of Jacques Derrida, founder of deconstruction, the challenger of assumptions of metaphysics and the character of  text.  In some ways, I think these quotes relate to the art form of rateclubsing. "If this work seems so threatening, this is because it isn't simply eccentric or strange, but competent, rigorously argued, and carrying conviction." "No one gets angry at a mathematician or a physicist whom he or she doesn't understand, or at someone who speaks a foreign language, but rather at someone who tampers with your own language." "Certain readers resented me when they could no longer recognize their territory, their institution." "Whatever precautions you take so the photograph will look like this or that, there comes a moment when the photograph surprises you. It is the other's gaze that wins out and decides." [Even if I turn my face at an angle or suck my gut in, I guess the photographer thinks I'm fat haha] "I never give in to the temptation to be difficult just for the sake of being difficult. That would be too ridiculous." [ I wish some of my professors took heed of this.   I guess for some of you, you wish it was your significant other]
