Fish Tacos!  I was personally not a fish taco fan before I went to Nick's tacos.  The 4 stars is for the price.  It's a little overpriced and how can you not get "Nick's Way" on your taco?  A taco with no Guac is no taco at all in my book, and a fried tortilla? Please!  So there's another dollar you have to tack on each taco you get.  I got two tacos my first time and yes they are filling but I'm a big guy and I could have easily taken down another taco.  Let's see that would be about $15-$20 bucks on 3 tacos! A little much but I think it is worth it once in awhile if you're going to splurge on tacos.  But then again I would want to splurge on sushi or a steak.  A must try though, definitely go with the fish tacos.

obviously i love the continental in olde city, so i went here with a friend for a few drinks. i was raving about the strawberry basil martini i get every time in the olde city restaurant - and was HORRIBLY disappointed at the incredibly limited drink menu! there were tons of drinks missing... but needless to say i had a few martinis anyway. (twizzle, i think it was. it was essentially a strawberry martini with a twizzler in the bottom. and one blueberry-lavender one that didn't really taste at all like lavender.) the ones i had were pretty good. i was hoping for a much larger drink menu though. for $12 martinis, i was hoping for a bit more variety. after going out here for drinks, another friend and i ended up here for brunch to avoid a massive rainstorm. instead of getting my rad na thai noodle salad (in some aspects i'm a creature of habit. if it aint' broke, why fix it?) i got the lobster mac n cheese. instead of macaroni, it was made with orzo and had a crispy crumbly top. it needed salt, but most things do so that's not really an issue. it was okay - not as good as i was hoping but still tasty. you can't go wrong with cheese, let's be honest. we also got bloody mary's - my friend got the bacon-infused mary. it sounds gross, but really it was just a bloody mary with a hint of smoky flavor at the end. it was really good! i find it really difficult to find a good bloody mary - they're either too strong, too spicy, or taste like cocktail sauce (too much horseradish). both of ours were fantastic. all in all, i do like the continental - but the one in olde city is WAY better. there is a cool rooftop patio, though. in the evening it's really nice to sit up there and have a few drinks. you can also smoke up there if you are so inclined. note that you should get there early because obviously on a nice evening outside seating is at a premium.

About a month ago I suddenly had a burning desire to go to the Clermont Lounge (which I had never been to) and decided to try to gather up some friends to go. I started making some calls and explaining where I wanted to go and noone was biting. Finally I got in touch with my brother and he's all up for it! Bless you Stephen. So we get down there (on a Saturday) and to my surprise the cover charge is $10! I had always heard it was $5 on a Saturday. I shrug it off though not wanting anything to ruin my evening. Soon as we walked in there was the infamous and fabulous Blondie dancing behind the bar. I could give you a play by play of everything that happened that night but I'll try to be brief. All the strippers in there are yes much older than the usual fare but they are all so nice. I talked to Blondie (who for $10 did indeed crush a can of PBR with her boobs and smashed my brother's face in between them) and she said she might be retiring in a year so get your asses down there and see her before she goes! The crowd here is not what you would expect. It's mostly groups of twenty somethings in very nice club wear. I had a great time talking to patrons and employees alike. Noone was snooty. Just a bunch of friendly people all getting drunk and having a great time. The music was fantastic and all kinds of people were getting their grooves on. A few things to note. It gets real crowded in there and it's a dungeon like atmosphere and I'm not even sure if there is central air so it gets HOT! Dress very light. Also ladies don't worry about doing a great makeup job because you will sweat every bit of it off. Trust! There is an ATM in there which is good cause it is cash only. The night I went I needed to get some more cash and the ATM was down so I suggest making sure you get all the cash you will need prior to going. Fortunately for me and my bro lots of friendly people kept buying us drinks. I got there at 10 and left at 3 and had a great time! If you get a chance go you won't regret it.
