by Mega-Man X. on Quick & Dirty about my first experience here last week: -$6 Bud lights (affordable for this type of hollywood trendy club venue) -NO COVER when I rolled in with 2 other dudes and no chicks at 11 PM on Saturday night (we were there for a birthday party and were not even on a guest list, but still got in with no cover cus they recognized the girls name who's party it was - Pretty decent looking, non-ghetto clientele - Good dancefloor upstairs - Cool, old fashion Edison-DT LA bar like lower lounge atmosphere - Free cupcakes for having your birthday there - Not too crowded and ridiculouly hard to move for a Saturday night - Bouncers were chill and professional I will be back here definitely again if I am feeling like doin' the hollywood club scene and can score NO COVER again even when not bringing a good dude-chick ratio and not having to dress over pretentious in some faggy fedora hat or something just to feel like I am dressed "trendy" enough to club in Hollywood Werd +!
by Jessenia Todor on I like the new Bruno's, but I LOVED the old Bruno's. It feels much smaller than I remembered before the remodel. They kept some of the funky decor in the middle room, but it's somehow not enough. We had appetizers there on Sat night before lucking into some great funk/soul - Kofy Brown was a true San Francisco treat! (forget Rice-A-Roni) The calamari was all breading, which was tasty, but they could have served us fried minnows and we would not have known the difference. However, the roasted garlic aioli was worth the price of the plate of fried breading. We also had the Kobe Sliders. 3 mini "kobe beef" burgers. They were tasty and definitely hit the spot, but honestly they did not taste much different than White Castle, and were 3x the price. Those little guys were a fine compliment to my slightly dirty and yummy vodka martini(s)!
