by Joseph M. on My girlfriend and I visited Morimoto during the 09 World Series.(early Nov. 2009) This place is a bit more formal than I'm used to, but nothing a pair of Khakis and a button-up can't fix. The interior was totally up my alley. I'm a food-first (and second) sort of guy, but I have a soft spot for modern/cool restaurant interiors. (think Las Vegas, as much as I hate LV) So, awesome interior, IMO. Now, on to the food. Let's get one thing straight, this place was BOTH my girlfriend and I's FAVORITE of our lives. Really amazing. 1. Toro Tartare- Holy %@!# My favorite dish of all time. I've had Tuna Tartare my fair share of times, but this was AMAZING! The presentation was amazing, the caviar on top delish, and if I ever found myself in Philly again I would order three of them. (would they do it, or is that too weird?) Anyways, worth going here for this alone. 2. ??? Salmon- I believe it was off of a specials menu, but we ordered some special Salmon as sushi. My girlfriend and I both are not the biggest raw salmon fans. (I think I got a bone once?) This, whatever it was, was unlike any other Salmon. It was like Salmon Toro, if that's even possible. I know this isn't too helpful, but if you go, try to find it. 3. All Sushi- We had a bunch, and it all seemed super fresh. More toro, octopus, scallop, ... The only negative was I went for a hot dish for my entree, which wasn't nearly as good. However, I probably shouldn't go to super-nice sushi places, and order the hot dish. It just doesn't make sense. I'm kinda special like that, I guess. So, especially compared to the other wonderfulness, that was a big mistake mostly on my own part.
by Cody Aipopo on Used to be a popular spot I guess not anymore from all the reviews I have seen here. I came here 2 years ago but still remember how easy was it for me and Miki to get into the club just because we are girls. There was beautiful crowds, great music and atmosphere. Not much to say besides these since I don't quite have good nor bad experience here. :)
