I'm closing my eyes to the reviews on the right side of my screen. I will not let them influence me! Maggiano's is a favorite of mine, if only for one thing - spumoni ice cream! We went to the one in Plano, TX once or twice a year, so when one opened up here I had to check it out. In our dining party were three adults and one child, my daughter. The other couple shared shrimp linquini with a tomato-based sauce and had nothing but good things to say. Considering their portions could easily make 2-3 meals, the prices are very reasonable. I had linguini and clams and it was delicious! The ceasar salad was also good. I asked for dressing on the side (which they forgot) so was relieved that it wasn't soaked in dressing. The only thing I think could be better is the bread. It was just so-so. My daughter loved her spaghetti with its giant meatball, quite possibly a quarter-pounder. And finally, the spumoni was awesome! If you don't know, spumoni is a combination of cherry, pistachio, and chocolate ice creams. The right way to make it is like they do here, with bits of cherries and pistachios. Spumoni is nearly impossible to find and I have never, ever, seen it in the store. Service was excellent. Our water glasses were always full, our server (Stephanie) was very attentive and friendly. The ambience was nice also.

We caught the 10 o'clock showing of Les Nubians here at Yoshi's and sat in the front row. They were the best seats in the whole house, felt upclose and personal. TSC will never be the same again. Looking forward to this coming weekend's Foreign Exchange's midnight show. Definitely get the "wet" Yoshi house sake. ;o) The waitstaff are friendly, courteous and down to earth. Loved the modern and sexy ambiance and decor of the bar outside of the concert hall. Loved Yoshi's sound system as it blew out eargasms from the soul.

Awesomeness. The second I walked in and the black curtain was drawn it felt like I was in someone's LSD-induced nightmare. But a yummy one, with margaritas. I don't know if the presence of the curtain-opening door guy made this place feel really pretentious, or like I'm someone special. I'll stick with the latter. The atmosphere of this place rocks. I sat at the bar for a while drinking my good, strong, $5 house margarita. Even though the other flavors looked tempting, I wasn't about to fork over $15 or $20 for a cocktail. Not even the dancing dead marionettes could convince me of that. Then I moved to the dining area, which is equally cool. I was very comfy in my big velvet booth, even though I was sitting on the crack. I must say, my food was a bit disappointing. Five stars for the chips, bean dip, and salsas, but my spinach and cheese enchiladas were just...blah. Not to my taste. The rice was fresh and the beans were just fine, but I'd definitely order something else next time. But, plenty of food for the price, and I can't rate it poorly just because I had one thing I didn't care for. The music could've been turned down a tad. I'm not a loud talker, and I end up blowing a vocal chord when I'm fighting with the music while trying to converse with friend. Otherwise? Rock.
