The bar downstairs has basically no room for mingling or walking around, even though a DJ is spinning beats there (...despite the fact that there is NO space for dancing). When you go upstairs, it's a stuffy and uncomfortable dance floor with barely any room. There's an outside bar on the second level, but it seems as if nobody is out there. Sure, a few people are mingling out there, but it's just a horrible floor plan. I didn't pay to get into H.Wood since we were on the guestlist, but honestly, I was disappointed in this place! Compared to other Hollywood clubs, H.Wood is a dingy and average place to spend your Friday or Saturday night!
by Patrick C. on This was actually the first bar I went in on my 21st birthday. But... it's just another bar on Bleecker. Live music, booze, ambiguously named in a way that suggests it could be a gay bar. (Peculiar Pub, Wicked Willy's) A word of warning: if your friend pees in the sink while the bar's owner is in the bathroom, he will be kicked out. But the owner will be pretty cool about it, all things considered. I would give the place 2 stars, but that kicked it up to 3.
by Alden Schons on Located in a sort of downtown Atlanta neighborhood that most locals don't venture to after dark. DJango is a real hipster joint with its roots deep into European cafes and clubs with a little bit of the "Dirty South" hip-hop scene thrown in. The crowd here is a mix of intowwn urban pioneers, hipsters, and soul scenesters--if that is too many buzzwords for you, let's sum it it up like this: Dunwoody it ain't! Django is a combination of restuarent, cafe, bar, and nightclub. Many nights have a dJ or a band, and the action heats up around 11pm. This is a very eclectic place, with an above average food menu. I would compare the menu to that of Apres Diem across town, a mix of starters and entrees with flavors reaching across all cultural bounderies. I think of this place as more of a bar than a restaurant and enjoy the reasonably priced wine list and well mixed cocktails.
