by Mike R. on GETTING IN: A pain... usually a BIG line and they even attempt to charge guys a cover. ridiculous! Go with more girls than guys however and getting in isnt too much of an issue.. paying a cover as a guy however is annoying. THE CROWD: Hollywood.. the definition of it.. blondes with heels and body work, guys in R+R jeans.. just the epitome of a hollywood scene.. but hell, in a hollywood club its what you would certainly expect to see. THE CLUB: Good sized, very high ceilings.. used to be a theatre which always makes for a nice open space.. getting a drink is easy due to the huge bar in the center of the "lounge" area with the dance floor below.. the music is good, the lighting is good, all in all it doesnt look as though a ton of money was put into the place but it oddly works. the super high ceilings certainly help. OVERALL: The epitome of what a hollywood club is.. the cover/getting in is annoying but once you are, its hard to not have a fun time
by Stephaine Morocco on AHHHH EL RIO!!! I must say this place is one of my favorite places in the city. Especially Sunday afternoons!! Live music, Margaritas and an overall great diverse crowd! Get there early on Sunny Sunday afternoons the line can get kinda long!
