Delux is a great place! My girlfriend and I went there for dinner the other night because someone told her that they had great vegi-burgers there. I can always go for a burger, so I was game. Well, she was let down (initially!) since they don't have vegetarian patties. They do, however, have many other vegetarian delights! She had the grilled cheese and enjoyed it. I had a bacon cheeseburger and it was cooked to perfection. The bacon wasn't too crunchy or too soft, and the bun tasted and felt fresh. We got the normal fries, and they were very good. Not too thick, and tasted fresh. They give you a variety of sauces to dip them in. The service was beyond excellent! Our waitress was on the ball. She filled our drinks very often, brought out our food with amazing speed, and was very attentive in all she did. There are a few minor things I didn't like. Certainly nothing enough to take away from the rating. The restaurant feels cramped. Inside, you may have to share a table with others you don't know in bar-like seating, and outside on the patio, they shoved in as many tables as they could fit, and the seats aren't all that comfortable. I can't wait to go back!

First off, I'm so surprised by all of the negative reviews! Perhaps I just got lucky with my great experience at Red House. I'll have to go back to test it...which I'm perfectly willing to do, 'cause it was so darn good! I met some friends there with my fiance, who's a New Yorker and is, accordingly, a huge pizza snob. We have actually fought about the fact that he thinks he's the Pizza Police (I mean, NY pizza's okay and all, but it's just a different style than what I grew up with - you know, thin wheat crust with fresh veggies and homemade sauce - and they're both tasty). I digress. First off, the sangria was delicious. None of that Ernest and Julio Gallo bottled junk that lots of restaurants try to serve as their "homemade" brew. Nope, just delicious (strong!) sangria. As for the pizza, it was great! I was surprised, too, because my friends got pineapple pizza and I'm normally not a fan. The crust was really interesting - almost a sourdough taste and texture - and I thought it was fantastic. Not too much sauce, not drowning in cheese. Delicious. And my guy loved it too. In seven years together, I have NEVER heard him say anything remotely positive about pizza except in NYC. We'll be back for sure, 'cause I love pizza, Red House is great, and now I can finally talk him into eating it with me during the 360 days of the year that we aren't in New York. Victory! p.s., The space is really cool, too.

Oh, The Park...A while back, I abstained from rateclubsing about your runny eggs and subpar service because I liked your garden but after last night I can safely say that likelihood of my ever eating here again is right up there with drinking a jar of warm Hellmans mayonaise on a hot summer day. Let's forget the overpriced insipid food and douchey weekend crowd for a second and talk about what many of these reviews seem to agree on: ridiculously bad service. In fact- the worst service I've ever experienced in this fair city- and I am not, repeat, am not, excluding kinkos employees. Not only did we wait 30 minutes for the waitress to arrive (on a weeknight, there was only two other tables there), when we complained about slow service the manager said it was due to "cultural differences" (we were speaking Spanish) since "in this country it is considered rude to wave at waiters to ask them to come." Right. Note to (brown, uneducated) self: next time I wait 40 minutes for my food and have to fetch napkins, glasses and other utensils for myself, the right thing to do is to summon the server telepathically. It gets better... Sometime between a bland bowl of lukewarm pasta and a coffee that never came I felt something at my feet and sadly it wasn't footsie, but a mouse. At this point- the staff's reply kind of summarized the amazing culture of customer service at The Park: "What do you expect? We have a garden."
